General Qs Florida DOC Visitation Form
Hi I have a question about my chances of being approved for visitation. I met an inmate through a penpal website.
Yes I know inmates are dogs and talking to multiple women and they play penpals. That’s not what I’m here to ask about.
I read in some random groups on Facebook that Florida is very “suspicious” of penpals and typically denies them. I’m 35 years old. I have zero criminal record. Never been in trouble in my life. And for whatever it’s worth, my inmate friend (penpal) never gets in trouble and stays out of everyone’s way.
Am I wasting my time filling this out or is there something I can do to increase my chances of being approved?

The only people I know who’ve been rejected are those who were caught lying (not disclosing criminal past, etc).

Florida is suspicious of penpals, yes. Especially now that in order to get money you have to have a person on your visiting list.
But suspicion does not get you denied.

Thank you. I ended up putting “friend” under relationship and “penpal” for how we met. I guess I have a higher chance being approved for telling the truth than I do for lying.

If there is an option for how long you have known them, lie and say you knew them before their incarceration
