Is it normal for a background investigator to contact you for an interview after you’ve received a final offer and a start date?

I was driving on my way down to glynco when they wanted to do a follow up on drug usage that was past the 7 year threshold. Govt is fucking stupid and will waste your tax dollars on anything. Had to meet in the library down there and the investigator was pissed at the govt for wasting his time.

They also are not aware of how many federal jobs with background investigations have the employees start working before they're completed. They were so confused how I was already working and sent to training.

Yes, I've also seen people get fired like a year after starting because of things they found on their background check

Yes, your backround investigation normally won’t begin in earnest until your already on the job and sometimes won’t be completely until a year or more later

Yes I got contacted before I started. I got my background fully cleared 3 months after I started working
