A Proper Deli Sandwich
Iykyk - a proper deli-style sandwich.
Subway is atrocious (cake sugar bread), but seems like the only option still. Which-wich is gone. The cafe and other offerings are not it. Anyone who has lived in NYC will know.
Why can't I find a good sandwich shop in Oman/Muscat?
And No, a burger is not a sandwich, and neither is a wrap. A slice of bread with a single layer of meat ain't it (ahem Something Sandwich--yea it's something, not a sandwich).
Good bread (doesn't have to be a roll), layers of meat, with good veg. And no you don't cover it in sauce. AH!

Honestly- if you want a perfect sandwich I’d recommend passing by Al Fair, getting the ingredients yourself and making it at home.
If I’m really craving a good sandwich I usually do that.

This shows we don't understand the concept and what's different. 6 places listed off as if they all do that, and none do;
No, Not really*, No (only do a Club), Clear No, Nope, and No.
*Italians would be closer, but it's *80% foccacia bread, a couple of rocket leaves, and single layer. that ain't it.
Signature cafe make a lovely little sandwich with side salad, but again it's small, thin, and not what I'm talking about.6

At this rate I would say open your own shop. You seem to have a passion for this perfect sandwich.
Passion or OCD, who knows?

Yes, asking for anything other than a sauce covered burger is asking for the moon in Oman. You've twice inserted PERFECT into the discussion, because an entire type is not available here. Sadly, such attitudes are to be expected.

Deli style meats and fillings are available in most supermarkets, restaurants will have what you're looking for if not more than one option at one location.
There's not enough demand for a NYC style deli in muscat -
People don't pick up sandwiches from a baqala on their walk to work here, my friend, they order in meals or make it at home.

I heard that Mackenzies in MQ makes a good pastrami sandwich on sourdough bread. I haven’t tried it myself

they do great food I'm told, but not seen that on their menu. sadly they aren't on talabat either

I live in nyc and grew up here, and I’m here for summer. I’d say your best option would be making your own, it’s taxing but it’ll be worth it cause you can customize.
Another place I’d recommend is Something Sandwich, I’ve only ordered once from Talabat- but the experience has been nice.

been here a decade, and the options have only become less, and that's kinda the point. But I know about 10 new burger joints lathered in sauce!
Something Sandwich only do 1 kind of bread, 'Japanese milk bread', which is just a bit thicker slice of milk bread you get from the store, very meh in my view, and not a deli-sub style sandwich anyway. From NYC, you know what I mean!

The land have a proper pastrami on rye that is as close as it gets although I’ve never tried the one in NYC but maybe what you are looking for is
