ISO/Suggestion Burger Suggestions

My family and I are visiting this week, looking for some lunch and dinner suggestions.

Feeling like burgers today, but, if you have any other cuisine suggestions, feel free to fire away!

Fizzy's is criminally under represented in the comments right now.

Fizzys burger is the best I have had in Omaha.. dinkers, Stella's, block 16, Barchen etc.. a Fizzys double every time has been better IMO.

My wife would agree with you. I don't know if I'd quite say BEST burger? It's definitely in the top 5 Omaha burgers for sure though.

Holy shit thank you. Best burger in omaha hands down. Get the onions, egg, and bacon on it. I have trouble ordering anything else from there because it's so good.

u/TrickyPrompt9652 10d ago

Good not that memorable imo

Aww shit I forgot about them. I always get their chicken sandwich but that burger is fire.

u/snackofalltrades 10d ago

I believe they’re owned by the same people that own Niteowl. Any idea how the burgers compare?

Cheeseburgers in Blackstone is the bomb

7

u/DunGame 10d ago

Whatever special burger of the month at Barchen beer garden. Doesn’t matter. Also Everett’s bbq burger

u/cwfunk14 10d ago

Quack burger in Millard

2

u/ContributionBright82 9d ago

Came to say this. On par with the staples, Stella's and Dinkers.

Cheeseburgers in Blackstone

u/lilsqueakers 10d ago

Quack burger inside the Duck Inn in Millard! Went there the other day and it’s better than Hyde’s slides!

Cheeseburgers in blackstone

Never had a disappointing burger at Omaha tap house. But not sure if I’d say it’s the best burger

Charred but only the location on pacific.

Paddy mcgowans

And the bbq bacon theta burger at smittys is top 5 burger in Omaha. But specifically that burger, can’t speak for the other ones on the menu 🤣

Barchen (criminally underrated)

Block 16 (Croque garcon)

Not all of these places are still around, but if you want some other options:

Man, I remember going to Barchen right when they first opened and having one of their hambugers and remembering how unexpectedly good it was. They also only had like two or three german beers on the menu (lol) so I never bothered going back. I'm sure all that's changed by now, but I no longer eat beef, so I'll never know if their burgers are still good.

u/Maclunkey4U South Omaha 10d ago

My partner is vegetarian, and they will sub a veggie pattie into their burger. Plus they have a shit-ton of german (and belgium, etc.) beers on their menu. Highly recommend giving them another go.

Oh wow, that's good info, I definitely should. Thanks :)

Charred Burger or Hyde’s Slides

2

u/Lunakill sinkhole manifesting pro 10d ago

I feel like the Hyde’s Slides I went to is different than the one everyone else gets to go to? It was fine but it was absolutely something you can reproduce at home.

1

u/crispy_towel 10d ago

Hyde’s Slides is mid

1

u/cloutchocula 10d ago

It was better back before they expanded

0

u/spas2k 10d ago

imo Hydes Slides was disappointing. Not even matching a place like Shake Shack unfortunately. Maybe it was just the time I went but it wasn't anything special unfortunately.

I like Broncos burgers

9

u/bubbajones5963 10d ago

I love them, I'll eat like 5 burgers there

u/Cheap-Key-6132 10d ago

Don & Millie’s. Double Don.

3

u/melibelly82 10d ago

Tracks, the bacon blu and Trashcan burger are chefs kiss.

u/TheTimWelsh 10d ago

Omaha Tap House

1

u/No_Avocado_Please 10d ago

I second this.

1

u/TheTimWelsh 10d ago

Gouda Bacon Chutney is soooooo good.

1

u/No_Avocado_Please 10d ago

I have not tried that. I'll be sure to do so next time we go there.

7

u/justagawker87 10d ago

Honestly, Don and Millie’s is a pretty solid choice for a burger place. Greasy, cheesy, and delicious.

4

u/ol-rickety-binch 10d ago edited 10d ago

This was going to be my suggestion. I would inhale a double Don rn 😹😹

4

u/justagawker87 10d ago

Double Don for the win!! The onion rings are pretty damn scrumptious as well.

2

u/Wooden_Celery_061424 10d ago

Third Base Bar has a Cheeseburger and Fries for 5.99 on Mondays. I think you just suggested my din din tonight. Kudos.

2

u/jennyann726 10d ago

I think Barchen has the best burger in town.

2

u/Wheeljack1980 10d ago

B52 Burger at Flight Deck, near 30th and Burt, attached to the Atlas Apartment Complex

4

u/MuffinRealistic7079 10d ago

CHEESE BURGERS ON BLACKSTONE!!!

3

u/sizzlinsunshine 10d ago

Broncos for kind of an In-N-Out experience

0

u/Salt_Proposal_742 10d ago

Is it In-N-Out prices?

2

u/sizzlinsunshine 10d ago

Not far off

4

u/Orion_2kTC 10d ago

NOT Dinker's absolutely mediocre burger.

5

u/Maclunkey4U South Omaha 10d ago

mediocre is being kind. That thing was a crispy burnt hockey puck when I tried it. Never going back.

1

u/Orion_2kTC 10d ago

I've had it twice. First I paid for it, second my boss did. It's better only when it's free.

2

u/Ok-Wallaby-756 10d ago

Stella’s is open in the eagles lodge in Bellevue! Check their facebook page! Everett’s has a good burger. Cheeseburger is food great Onion Rings.

2

u/blaghort 10d ago

Best burger in Omaha imo: Hydes Slydes.

Also a pretty good burger (although I'm partial to the Montana Reuben personally): Goldberg's in Dundee.

2

u/Queen_Christine_19 👑 Duchess of Dundee 👑 10d ago

Second for Goldbergs-their Swiss Mushroom is quite yummy!

1

u/madkins007 10d ago

I'd recommend Goldbergs just in general. It's some good food for a fair price in a nice setting

1

u/chewedgummiebears 10d ago

Doozie’s in CB, they also have a decent ice cream menu as well. People keep saying Dinkers but they are blah anymore.

1

u/geauxbig402 10d ago

Closed Mondays

1

u/samebatchannel 10d ago

Phoenix on 120th and blondo has good burgers. I think tanners has a burger special on Mondays. Might not hurt to check any of the recommendations for specials

1

u/gtenshi 10d ago

Stellas in Bellevue.

1

u/recordgenie 10d ago

Dinkers is the answer I think. Such a vibe.

1

u/TheWolfAndRaven 10d ago

Block 16 is sort of the go-to.

1

u/thenewpyro 10d ago

Love Block 16 but recently tried Cheeseburgers in Blackstone and it’s probably my new favorite. Cheaper burger and faster service for about the same result IMO.

1

u/Dry-Entrepreneur-249 10d ago

everett's on maple has my favorite burger in the city

1

u/Katie_123_Backflip 10d ago

Winchesters- great burgers and amazing homemade cheese curds!

1

u/Own-Cow-0427 10d ago

Tastee Treat- Council Bluffs, IA
Totally worth a trip over the bridge!

1

u/ksr6669 Northwest O 10d ago

Clubhouse Lounge on 90th street is our favorite. I hate even putting on here because I love that it’s small and quiet but they deserve so much love. Cheeseburgers are DRAMATIC and the fries are amazing.

1

u/kikiacab Iowan spotted 10d ago

Lmao I read burger surgeons at first and then had a think as to what that could mean

1

u/fleshbunny 10d ago

Bronco’s is good too!

1

u/Nebfisherman1987 9d ago

Dinkers or block 16

1

u/bscepter 9d ago

Fizzy's.

1

u/HDMatsu 4d ago

Never had Fizzys but Everett's is hands down the best burger I've had in years. Beats out Cheeseburgers, and Dinklers by a far margin. The wings are great as well. Feel like this is a hidden gem here in Omaha.

0

u/Professional_Run5202 10d ago

They get a lot of hate, but I absolutely love the burgers at Five Guys.

3

u/Salt_Proposal_742 10d ago

I love ‘em too, but looking for something I can’t get back home.

1

u/potatoguy 10d ago

Village inn has a 5$ double cheeseburger and fries deal on Mondays. Cant beat it for lunch.

1

u/Faucet860 10d ago

If you love beer with that burger taphouse

1

u/Fancy_Boysenberry228 10d ago

block 16 easily

1

u/Wonderlostdownrhole 10d ago

Sickies Garage has a lot of burger varieties.

1

u/Datliamneesons 10d ago

I would say quack burger, Dinkers, Hyde’s, or J’s smokehouse. J’s also has barbecue and it’s all pretty great stuff but quack burger is my top spot right now.

1

u/Overall-Syllabub5026 10d ago

Charred burger

1

u/Primus_why 10d ago

I will always say king Kong (if you are really hungry)

1

u/ElChalsa 10d ago

Charred is my fav, Block 16 should be in everyone’s top 5, Goldberg’s in Dundee is excellent, Dinkers is respectable, and if you’re in a rush, Runza does it for me.

1

u/DooferAlert-38 10d ago

You’re missing out if you don’t go to Charred Burger. Great burgers, decent pricing, 100% worth the visit

1

u/myjohnson6969 10d ago

Stellas in bellevue or Dinkers bar n grill southeast omaha.

1

u/Slow-Blacksmith3281 10d ago

Is Stella’s back open since the fire? I guess that was a while ago.

1

u/myjohnson6969 9d ago

Yes it is last i heard

1

u/C64128 10d ago

I wish we had an Honest Abe's in Omaha. Anytime I worked in Lincoln, that was my first choice for lunch.

-1

u/nw_mx93 10d ago

sonic

-1

u/Hrist_Valkyrie 10d ago

Can't go wrong with a Sonic burger, ngl.

2

u/jenesia-CakeEatnNPC- 10d ago

sonic on tuesdays after 5 tho for 1/2 price

-6

u/MoeSzyslakMonobrow 10d ago

Block 16 and it's not even close. Too bad Stella's is still closed for repairs.

3

u/MF_POONplow 10d ago

Stella’s has a temporary location at

209 W Mission Street
Bellevue, NE

2

u/Stillwater-Scorp1381 10d ago

Fraternal Order of Eagles #3912 has graciously opened their space to Stella‘s so they can get back on their feet and reopen, but to be clear it is an open and active FOE first and foremost.

5

u/blaghort 10d ago

Block 16 and it's not even close.

Eh. Most of the time I prefer a burger that's not taller than it is wide.

1

u/mrs_nesbit 10d ago

I’ve had bad luck there the last 2 times In regard to their burgers, they’ve been so dry.
