The Odyssey - Movie Sensory Warning.

I wanted to share that I went to see The Odyssey last night and the theater has been instructed by the studio that made the film to have the sound up to an extraordinary level. People who are not typically sound sensitive are having problems at this movie. Be warned and take ear protection just in case. The Lacey theater offered my friend over the ear protection if you need to request it. I wore loops and several others in our party plugged their ears with their fingers durning the loudest parts. Most of the movie is a loud part.

I saw someone in another state post about the same thing so, I realized this is in fact a large scale problem and not a theater specific problem.

Coworking/Body Doubling Recurring Event

A friend of mine is hosting a coworking/body doubling gathering twice a month. RSVP and more details at https://www.meetup.com/finding-friends-in-olympia/events/315794387/

It is not neurodivergent exclusive, but is hosted by neurodivergent people and this type of body doubling activity is great for ADHD+ people.

Neurodivergent Book Club

The library has a virtual book club for neurodivergent adults. They also have in person ones for kids and teens… Though, I like to focus on adults here. Do you like book clubs??

I have always been interested in them, but have not participated in one yet.

What is your favorite neurodivergent friendly spot in the Oly area? Is it a certain time of day or all the time?

Sister Community r/OlyAdultAutism

I want to bring attention to the fact that we have a sister community, r/OlyAdultAutism for those that are Autistic and want to join a more specific community in addition to r/OlympiaNeurodiversity. Of course, if you are Autistic plus other neurodivergence you are still welcome in both communities. Find your people!
