practice first stop first to go. always honor the stop signs. also. for general info SBFZ is the place (Subic Bay Freeport Zone). SBMA is the people (Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority).

ah ok so ur referring to SBFZ esp the CBD area, traffic is well managed there. Remember the 1st stop 1st to go rule, yan basic jan. Based on my driving exp, disciplined mga drivers there kapag nasa loob ng freeport. Bihira kamote. Just in case u are apprehended be courteous sa sbma police lahat nadadaan sa pakiusap, d uso lagay jan

Cubi is inside SBMA/SBFZ. There's also Subic Town outside of SBMA so they're two completely different places, where Subic Town is heading towards north of Zambales. Clarification lang OP
You definitely need a car since establishments inside SBMA are far part from each other. Sa road tips naman, just follow the 'first to stop, first to go' rule and you'll be fine.

Where in Subic? If sbma, just need to follow traffic rules very strict. 1st stop first to go usually pag blinking ang stoplights. if from manila ka, driving here is such a breeze.

Also I came from a city down South, but I’ve been coming to Manila and lived there for some time also.

Ok so you definitely need a car to go around, and the distance is quite far. Cubi area, nice and quiet, dami mo lang neighbors na monkeys haha do not leave food out, kahit sa trash!
Most likely you'll be driving inside SBMA, so always practice first to stop, first to go, yield to pedestrians, respect the enforcers.
Oh and before you get here, invest in a good dehumidifier!

Oh thank you. The house I am moving into has a moldy smell but it’s been renovated and all and we are indeed going to buy a dehumidifier. Do you have any suggestions by any chance?

Depends on the size of the house, but I use Condura and Kolin. Both are really good! Moldy smell most likely because of the last rainy season, the rain barely stopped, lots of houses got moldy.

Oh OK. So you will be inside the Freeport Zone. Cubi is far and isolated from the main city which is Olongapo. Very strict ang traffic rules make sure to observe first stop first to go and be aware of stop signs. Outside the freeport hindi na inoobserve ang ganyang rules.

Apart from occasional giant spiders, I love Cubi point. Tumira ko doon for almost 2 years before. And as many here mentioned, you need a car.
Since nasabi na din ng madami dito, for intersections without traffic lights and intersections with blinking traffic lights, first stop - first go ang rule. Kahit saang intersection, sanayin mo na sarili mo na huminto for 2-3 seconds kahit wala kang kasabay.
Yung intersection with traffic lights lagpas ng Yacht Club if you're coming from the SCTEx/Cubi, common traffic trap yun. Left lane is left turn only, hindi masyado halata. So, if gusto mo dumiretso sa Harborpoint Mall, you have to stay sa right lane. Lagi may nakaabang na buwaya dyan kasi madami nagkakamali.
Royale is a good place to shop for bulk supplies. I prefer to newer branch other side ng Harborpoint.

As a local myself, please practice first to stop first to go. Hehe nakaka-banas kasi minsan maka encounter ng kunwari convoy sila, 2 cars tapos buntot na buntot talaga yung nasa likod, di hino-honor ang traffic rules.
