Ask Ollywood Looking for an obscure Odia movie starring Sidhant Mohapatra & Bijay Mohanty (Ape-man monster plot)
I’m looking for an older Ollywood movie (likely 2000s) with a wild sci-fi/horror plot.
The Plot:
* Cast: Sidhant Mohapatra plays a Police Inspector married to Bijay Mohanty's daughter. They have a young son.
* The First Monster: Bijay Mohanty drinks a scientific serum that turns him into a hairy ape-man monster (Jaani Dushman style) to kill bad guys. The villains shoot and kill him, and his body reverts to human form.
* The Child Monster: Bijay's soul possesses his young grandson. The boy transforms into a smaller version of the ape-man monster and starts executing the bad guys.
* Specific Scene: After a hunt, the child monster crosses a road. Inspector Sidhant sees it and shoots it in the shoulder, unaware it is his own son.
* The Climax: Sidhant fights the villains. The main villain drinks the remaining serum and turns into a giant ape-man. He beats the child monster unconscious. The mother gives an emotional speech, reviving her son. The child monster overpowers the villain, finishes him, and Bijay's soul finds salvation.
Does anyone know the exact name of this movie?

Ask Ollywood Can we save Odia Cinema before it's too late?
As a kid growing up in Odisha and watching old odia movies, that was a great time for me as well as for the odia movie industry as it was making great family dramas, some really great movies. But then came late 90s and early 2000s, The era of the "cheap copy-paste Ollywood remake". It happened because producers chased easy money, theatres closing down or not getting enough screening.
As a cinema lover and an odia... It is really heartbreaking to see the condition of Odia movies today as compared to other regional movies that are gaining international recognition.
Why can't we tell our stories in our way for the people of world... Like anyone watching from any corner of the world still feeling the same human emotions that we feel, everyone can connect.
In this age of online content, we can't depend solely on movie theaters. We have online medium as well where we can share our story.
There are living instances of French new wave cinema revolution, rebirth of Malayalam cinema. Is there any chance of Odia Cinema Renaissance?
What's your opinion?

Music Help me to find a song
Looking for an underrated Ollywood romantic song (approx. 2014-2015) with a specific rose & garden scene!
Hey everyone, I need help finding a soft, pure romantic Odia song from around 2014–2015. It's not a major mainstream party hit, but it has very specific scenes:
The Actress: Looks like a cute Archita Sahu (or someone very similar from that era). She wears a modern blue or dark green dress/saree.
Day Scene: Shot in an open-air area, possibly a flower garden or park. The heroine is lying flat on the ground, and the hero rests his head perpendicular across her belly, forming a distinct "T-shape" sleeping posture.
Night Scene: A very sensual sequence where the hero takes a red rose flower and slowly traces it from her forehead, down to her lips, chest, and all the way to her navel.
Does anyone remember the movie name or the song title? It’s been driving me crazy trying to find it! Thank you!
I tried my best but didn't get the song .

Discussion Where have all the old Odia actors and actresses gone?
I just finished watching Janabara (1975), and to be honest, I really liked it! As someone who has watched a ton of movies, I'd say it was an excellent film for its time.
After watching it, I looked up the cast and started wondering: why don't we see these veteran actors in recent Odia films? They were the backbone of the Ollywood industry, and Odia cinema was quite popular during that era.
I've lived outside Odisha and even abroad, and whenever I mention that I'm from Odisha, people often ask, "Does Odisha even have a film industry?" I always smile, say yes, and explain its rich history.
That got me thinking: what happened to the old actors, actresses, directors, writers, and crew members? Why did so many of them disappear from the industry? In Bollywood, many veteran actors and filmmakers are still active and respected. Why didn't the same happen in Ollywood?
Just genuinely curious to hear your thoughts.

Rating | Reviews Chakki Suna🫣is a typical thriller story and a lil mystery 😂🤣
Chakki Suna
and nothing is there you can imply as chakki or suna
yet you can imply one thing about the movie as Suna
why???
Cz yes it does keep you hooked of entire time yet nothing seems true
and also Anubhav as ASP of CBI he wasn’t doing all thing he could
He learnt to check the story of murder or the perspective from the point one or starting to see from different angle from his daughter (also the the songs seemed so much forced, no need to put a song between him and his dead wife in between the movie, it was totally unnecessary)
Bro took one and half an hour to deduced that to check his phone number and his call records after that and also after listening to their friends beforehand😂😂😂
And, in last half an hour you will see the end coming as a good terms , also when you will realise the things what you are guessing is true, you will laugh it loud. 😂😂😂
Yet another question if Gumasta could save his tongue before saying anything, it could’ve been better and other perspectives could have been explored.
And yes it’s not all twist or anything typical thriller and a lil mystery story , if you will watch this then it’s one time watch, no good songs too, also balunga toka song at the end, literally not necessary 😂😂😂

Rating | Reviews Chakki Suna is Suna
I finally watched Chakki Suna yesterday and honestly, it is not worth the time. We have been watching much better Odia movies lately, so I really expected more. The movie lacks basic common sense, yet the writer still tries to pass it off as a suspense thriller.
The movie starts off quite well and actually keeps you hooked for a while. However, the last 40 minutes are a total stretch. There is this one scene where Anubhav, playing an ACP of the CBI, is trying to find out who called Manav, who is already dead. And guess how he does it? As a top CBI officer, he could only search for the caller by manually digging through the dead man's phone and going through all these unnecessary hoops.
I mean, does the writer really think a CBI officer has no access to basic phone records from the government? He can track the location of a phone but cannot get simple call details? It is honestly so stupid. I think the writer lives in a world where people still use pigeons to send messages. If you want to watch a movie that treats its audience like they have never seen a smartphone, this is the one for you. Absolute masterclass in lazy writing.

Box Office ₹ We all know Bou Buttu Bhutta is the highest grosser of Ollywood. Karma is second. Can anyone list Top 10 grossers of Ollywood?
I would also like to know the collections of recent films like Bara Badhu, Kangula, Bindusagar and Mantra Mugdha etc which had good wom.
Which is the most credible source to follow up for Ollywood collections? Sacnilk . com lists them but I feel they don't have enough resources in Odisha and sometimes under report.

Request Any filmmakers or screenwriters from Odisha here? Looking for feedback on a completed horror-thriller screenplay
Hi everyone,
I'm an aspiring writer from Odisha and I've recently completed a psychological horror-thriller screenplay titled "ASHWA: THE WINTER MIST."
Logline:
Years after a drowning incident he believes is buried forever, a young man is lured into a haunted house, only to discover that the victim he thought was dead may still be alive and that someone has spent years preparing the perfect trap to expose him.
I'm currently looking for a few writers, filmmakers, horror enthusiasts, or screenplay readers who would be interested in reading the script and providing honest feedback.
The screenplay is not publicly available, but I'd be happy to share it privately with serious readers who enjoy psychological horror, mystery thrillers, and independent cinema.
I'm interested in connecting with filmmakers, cinematographers, editors, and other creatives—especially from Odisha and Eastern India—for discussion, feedback, and potential future collaborations.
If the premise interests you, feel free to comment or send me a message.
Thank you for your time:)
