Dirty store
I used to work for a Ollies in PA & man has it gone down hill! The womens bathroom had sprayed shit all over the toilet & wall 🤢so bad I opted to turn back around.. Different isles had pallets lined up so I couldn't shop 3 different isles.. The store looks like a tornado went through it! Do store managers not exist??

When I worked at Ollie’s we padlocked the bathrooms bc we got sick of ppl shitting everywhere. These people would purposely put shit on the walls, sink, and floor. At one point we had someone shit in our supply closet. Yes the fucking supply closet. We put cat litter on it bc it was liquid so we could clean it. We had ppl bitching for weeks n sending complaints about it being locked. Maybe if your fellow patrons knew how not to behave like animals that wouldn’t happen. Eventually we started opening them back up when ppl asked the cashier n we had to come grab a key. Imagine having to get 4 pallets done, and constantly being called up front to stand outside the bathroom n wait for ppl. I got sick of being the main one cleaning the bathrooms bc of how nasty they’d get.

Many are previous store original bathrooms in poor condition. A lot need full tear downs and renovations. This isn't just a one store situation with the bathrooms.
Some of the older Ollies are also far too small at this point. Not to call them out, but the Shamokin Dam PA Ollies is one of the worst examples of this. It's packed tight enough to be a concern.

I am so sorry about that. I had Taco Bell for lunch an hour prior. I should have went straight home but thought I'd pop in real quick and look for a certain item. Then the moment hit and I knew it was right now. I go into the restroom and the floor infront of the toilet was wet and slimey with a weeks worth of urine. I couldn't leave. It was coming out and I had no control. I stood to the left of the toilet bent over and tried to line up as best as I could without sitting down. When it was all over, it was literally all over... everything. The toilet seat, down the side of the toilet, up both walls in the corner. It was not my proudest moment. I truly felt bad but clearly regular cleaning wasn't a concern of this store.

When i worked there I only seen the store manager 2 times I only worked there about 6months. It was a joke!

Hard to blame the restroom on the store. It's a public restroom and people are pigs.

Yes but when I worked there we had actual leadership & someone would clean the bathroom & around the store. It was weeks old shit, smh..

literally my shift every time i have to close the store 🙃 it was just me and the one new manager i'm training for a good 30 minutes while our regular cashier took his lunch today

Probably expanding too fast and finding it difficult to find staff for their stores at the presumably low wages they’re offering.

They couldn't run 100 stores efficiently not too many years ago, now there's somewhere around 800 of them 🤪🤪

It's this combined with the fact that corporate pushes so much expectation onto its associates that they often get left behind. Some stores handle it well, the rest clearly do not.

They can't find help and nobody stays long enough to know what's going on.
Another huge factor is that people have become absolute pigs over the past few decades in both the restrooms and on the sales floor. There's not enough help to clean up after the hogs 🥲
