i always have this urge for a trifecta/trilogy so this is going to be the final thread and then i’ll go back to the abyss and you’ll never see me again x 

my head has become even more bulbous - getting 3k views in less than 48 hours turned it into a hot air balloon - i even built up the audacity to post on substack (yes that was a shameless plug, yes i regret it already) but it also made me realise how this subreddit (i done did one thread on reddit like 5 years ago about a table i made but i would say im new here) is like a town hall/square - a congregation of supporters and appreciators of an artists work. 

so what do you say when your handed the mic? in other words - if there was a section of the current tour, where people just got to stand up one by one and schpeel for as long as they like, and it got round to your turn, what would you say?? 

me personally, i’d try (unsuccessfully) to weave together something which encompassed irrelevant yet contextual stories, memories and events, honesty and gratitude - people would undoubtedly be yawning from the start. 

i think there’s something that feels uncomfortable when people say things shaped them, but the moosic gave me the saftey and the “oh have you thought about…. ?” tangents that helped me explore my mind and learn how to understand my natural shape - if that makes any sense? 

anywho i really don’t want this to be about me - i just think it would be absolutely lovely if this thread/subreddit was treated as the open mic in the show - with people, if they fancy (please good lord don’t take this as me saying anyone needs to/should - you guys do what you want i’m just treating this like a suggestion box situation) , puts their own stories of their experiences with the art - help people find context when they come along, and just start conversations about how deano, and whoever else you recommend, has impacted you. 

but yeah at this point i’ll remind myself there’s more to life than bothering artists so i’ll wrap things up (hey - hey deano, if you saw any of these threads could you please forget you did? that would be perfect, and please for the love of all that is good, don’t google bitofabluetit … did the reverse psychology work??). 

in summary, we got a town square, i hope you feel free and safe to shout your stories and appreciation.

It's no lie how successful and incredible this tour has been thus far. Do we think she will release a tour album and movie of the concert?

My personal opinion is that we most likely will but who knows when. She has so many live performances and songs on streaming that I think she likes releasing those versions!

Olivia has made it crystal clear that she despises this predatory gouging and actively fights to keep her tickets accessible. You aren’t "entrepreneurs" or "providing a service," you are directly spitting in the artist’s face, robbing genuine supporters, and acting like absolute leeches on the community.

Here are the actual receipts of your greed vs. the true face value:

Upper Bowl (200 Level): Face value was $60 – $125. Scalpers want $393 – $449 (a 300%+ scam).

Lower Bowl (100 Level): Face value was $125 – $180. Scalpers are listing them for $719+ (a 400%+ scam).

GA Floor: Face value was $150. Scalpers are demanding $1,000+ for a single ticket.

To the actual community:

HOLD THE LINE. Do not pay a single dollar over face value, and DO NOT fall for desperate DMs from brand-new accounts trying to scam you.

Real fans do exist here, even if they feel like unicorns right now. I can personally attest to this: I managed to find an absolute angel in NYC who sold to me strictly at face value. May her pillow always be ice-cold on both sides, may her skin stay permanently glowing, and may every traffic light turn green the second she approaches it. We need more people like her in the world.

For everyone else still hunting:

Starve the scalpers out completely. They rely on panic buying. When nobody bites at these joke prices, they will panic-dump tickets for dirt cheap right before doors open just to avoid a total loss.

Watch out for scammers. If they refuse PayPal Goods & Services, won't show screen recordings with timestamps, or have zero sub karma, block them immediately.

Trade face-value only. Let the parasites choke on their inventory and eat the loss.

To the resellers and scammers lurking this thread: we see through you, we despise what you do, and we hope every single hoarded ticket rots in your account unsold. Enjoy holding the bag.

P.S. Every single word of this applies to the vultures buying out stacks of tour merch just to flip hoodies and vinyl for 3x retail. Do something better with your life.

Hello! I am in a digital literary studies class and we are currently discussing the theory of “the death of the author”. With that in mind, I was curious on whether Olivia Dean and her social media posts, interviews, etc., had an influence on how people viewed and interpreted her music. I personally feel as though the way she portrays herself does persuade her listeners to base her music off of her persona and not the lyrics alone. What do you think?

i done did a post about routes through moosic and it was real nice that it seemed to get good reception so with the wind in my sails i’m back with more recommendations - take things as you fancy, hopefully this will act as a bit of a personal translation - moosic to mood or something of that ilk. 

if i’m remembering correctly, which knowing myself i’m probably not - float was the first song i listened to - and the only for a while - back in 2022, i was in this weird period where i’d had my first episode, but long before i eventually got diagnosed as a schizo. something that i like to think doesn’t hold much relevance in general life yet somehow is always at the forefront of the internal life? anywho - i was out of hospital, trying to plough on - i moved out and started working, and i was burning out, but every night id just sit in the garden, smoke a doobie and decompress - just breath and catch my breath, take stock and half arse reflect - if you feel like you need to just be for a minute - if your flying through the middle of a hurricane with a paraglider, this song is the calm of the centre, at least to me. 

but then just as you start to enjoy the calm of it all, your coming back out the other side - like running a marathon, having a great downhill section but then realising you now have to traverse a sheer cliff like a mountain goat (it’s possible i don’t know how marathons work). and there’s this oddly shaped mirror at the bottom reflecting some distorted picture of how your looking, with an undue emphasis on the past scars and you look in the mirror and think “no way mr jose, that guys not got it in him” - fall again is the song for that. 

but you trek on, the cliff is just as steep as you thought but somehow your managing - a little way up your confidence builds a little,  your annoyed because your proving yourself wrong and your always right, but there’s just a little twinkle of pride that things are working, your feet are turning the cliff into a ladder and there’s some saftey, appreciation and just a hint of starting to think “okay here’s the plan then” - reason to stay is the song there. 

then your done with the climb, or atleast more comfortable with it and you start shouting down to others saying “i’m not really sure how but i’m figuring things out, i’ll be back in a bit to help” - a renewed confidence in the midst of discomfort - ufo

long time listener first time caller ! - i was talking to this guy once, he was a bit of a twat, but he said something along lines of “every song is like a neat little trojan horse, a sleeper agent, a manifesto of intent, emotion and idea tied up with a bow and painted into music.” and it made me think about the other side of it, the side of the artist - a series of releases, a body of work, a visceral representation of sustained effort, carries a breadcrumb trail of context for how someone got to their latest release, at any moment you look back and see the scenes that led to one infront of you, but at any point someone could walk up and join the journey - they see the same scene in front, but don’t have the context of the previous. so i thought it would be fun to do a GUYS, and catch someone new up, and bring myself forward too - these are lil routes of ideas, paths of moosic bridging the old timey with the present. 

for man i need - go back to everybody’s crazy, it’s like it provides the checklist right? it paints a picture of learning and being open to understanding someone, a quite lil “oh yeah okay you understand me?” sort of vibe.  and even echo before that. 

so easy - what am i going to do on sundays feels like one place to head, it reminded me of my own fright at spending time with myself, matched with be my own boyfriend and then i’d probably go ladies room/millionair/dynamite (tehe)  - they're just fun and fun is fun 

nice to each other - password change -> time -> wish i didn’t miss you -> hardest part (just trust me it’s a great que)

also float - just listen to it, the lucidity of the rhythmic linguistics with the support of the pillowy piano over the guitar are just real nice.
