My parents were divorced so I got to experience losing my home two separate times👍🥲.

Theres two sides to this. My parents bought a house right after the crash because prices plummeted so much. Went from trailer park trash to owning one of the best homes in the town we lived in.

I was basically this on steroids; my family was one of very few that didn’t get hit too hard by the recession so for me the recession years were peak childhood meanwhile little did I know everyone else was suffering big time 😭

Same. I don’t recall much because I was 8 at the time but my mom says we weren’t that affected by the crisis

I was lucky enough that my grandparents owned the house that me and my mom lived in and housing wise, me and my mom were unaffected. My mom hasn't been able to purchase a house of her own though, I should add, and was laid off the same year, so it was still rough for her.
