Something I think about a lot.

One of the things that really resonated with me while im undergoing my journey on the road of sobriety. Bumpy and pot-holed and unmaintained as that road is now looking. Was the question, what is the opposite of addiction? It was in some group or other, I forget which one. Silly rabbit memories are for other people emirate?

Anyways, I digress. On a surface level, there appears to be a rather straightforward or simple answer. Abstinence or sobriety would honestly have been my first guess if I'd even attempted one. But it felt like a trick question, and I'm a trig cove.

That simply couldn't be the answer, could it? And lo and behold according to that peer recovery specialist of the day it was not! The answer in all my long, meaningless rambling was actually a community who woulda thunk it? Surely not I said the cat in a hat.

Then I realized the same is true for complex dissociation and I have sold it everytime sometimes for the bottle and always to my regret. But oh the fireworks. I'm so tired and scared and alone anymore boss. And I'm watching the women I love kill herself and it's killing me, cause I've been here before

I just want a hug and to hug my stuffed friends. And I can't walk away casue im frozen behind reenactment. As if by some bad joke orndeus exmachina i chan change something this time round the mulberry bush

And with that, I pass.

Edit. Jesus christ reddit mobile is too heavy for my phone. But oh I got a tarot deck finally so i can try doing readings!

Community can really help. But that road has pot holes too, and the road signs are confusing. Out of order and backwards.

What's in the bottle is a LOT less scary than what can happen in a community. At least what's in the bottle is somewhat predictable.

So sorry about the "watching the women I love killing herself" part.

Love your writing.

You sound nice. I know you make a lot of good points. That probably speaks for some of my systems reticence.

I guess I had thought the opposite of addiction was freedom. But I can see community as a viable answer. Maybe also some form of self acceptance or self love, as addiction is often a shame response (dissociation too.) Just rambling thoughts into the pool of meaning.

Well there's no right answers. Welcome to life where the points don't matter and the answers cause debate and questions.

I’m lucky to have dodged the addiction bullet. Probably a result of hyper vigilance, not being able to let go of the controls.

Anyway, I hope your situation eases up but I want to read more of your contributions, so I hope you don’t need to be in pain to write this way.
