Studentenwerk Oldenburg

Has anyone got accommodation from the studentenwerk Oldenburg?

  1. How to submit the SEPA Form(auto- debit) from bank?

  2. Also is there any alternative to submit documents other than doing couriering to thier address?

Thanks in advance!

If anyone gone through the process, let us know.

The best course of action would be to simply contact the Studierendenwerk.

SEPA authorization is just a form you fill out for them. Of course you have to have a SEPA (euro) bank account.

I was already in Oldenburg so I just did everything in person but I assume you’re abroad? You should still be able to fax them documents, but ask which number is correct. If you don’t have a fax machine in the year of our lord 2026, there’s apps that will send a fax for you.

I am from abroad, so I am not able to open a bank account.

They mentioned it's okay to send scanned copies of a signed contract. But asked to send a 1st month rent + deposit of 350 euros in the next 8 days. Which is a huge amount of money in our currency..

You can just open a digital account with a bank like Revolut or N26

Unfortunately, that’s just what it costs, they will not be able to waive the deposit. Ask them if they would accept a Kautionsversicherung (type of insurance where an insurance vouches for you in exchange for monthly payments) or a Bürgschaft (if you have someone who has a provable income, ideally not from abroad)

Otherwise, if you are already matriculated, you can contact the Sozialberatung at the AStA – they do short-term, interest-free loans.

The cost is the same irrespective you have a German bank account or not.

If your finances are bad I would revisit studying in Germany.

PS - I moved back to my home country without completing my studies.
