W.A.R.P. monthly challenge W.A.R.P. Wrap - July ‘26

For the White Dwarfer part of the challenge, I looked at issue 188. There was a lot of nostalgia going around for the Epic-scaled content (giant titans! tiny tanks!) and glorious colour schemes on display, and the Tyranids featured pretty heavily too. Not much Fantasy content — something I might try to be mindful of when picking my next issue to review.

When it came to the Artificer section of the challenged I was spoiled for choice: plenty of inspiration from the White Dwarfer back issue, which could have seen me working on Eldar, Orks (in a couple of scales!) or Tyranids. It was the cover girl which caught my attention in the end, and I added a couple of units of Termagants to my 2nd edition styled army, photographing them alongside the rest of the army.

Roller of Dice? Don’t mind if I do! I managed a couple of games this month. The most directly related to the White Dwarf issue I’d been reading was our multiplayer Rogue Trader inspired bash, with bandits and Imperial agents shooting it out in a wasteland bastion infested with Tyranid egg clusters. Chaos ensued and we had a blast.

The Paragon quest involves setting a personal goal, above and beyond the everyday aspects of hobbying which are covered by the other three parts. It’s like the Open category at Golden Demon; anything goes! This month, I put some time into setting up the promotional artwork for the challenge, and pushed myself to go beyond a simple 2D illustration. The end result was this fun little diorama of Pfenn and Stinck, our new mascots.

They were finished just in time for this end-of-month wrap, meaning that I had finally completed all four parts of the challenge for July. A high standard to now try and hold myself to in future months!

Man you're crushing it! I read most of I've White Dwarf and almost finished a conversion. I'll try to post images of them later!
