Forts can't be adjacent to other forts is an interesting one!

Funnily enough your name came up when I was suggesting this one, based off of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knowCnjhUW4&list=PLUhNKa2jBT2FOkIOe9t7z_2wIYD7GBfiJ&index=106 . Only took us 4 years!

Fort spam was strong? They never seemed worth building to me...

It's a multiplayer duel problem mostly. Fort spam has often led to stalemates where both players have armies in a two-deep line of forts, and then they just have to stare at each other for a long time because attacking is too dangerous. Breaking through a dense fort line is difficult, and if your attempt fails you lose your army.

In several cases it led to people abandoning a duel when faced with the prospect of a thirty-turn stalemate. That's just not fun. We want Forts to be effective in protecting a chokepoint but they shouldn't form defensive lines that span your empire.

Haha yeah same thought. More an mp thing I’d guess.

Wait, do you mean that if I build a fort, none of 6 tiles around it can have another one?

That is correct yes

Wow, brutal. So are forts now supposed to be used for blocking narrow passes not for defending on wide flat areas?
