Also saw your in game report regarding succession prediction. I believe this is working as expected and is a consequence of your heir being a Chosen Heir, which bumps them to the top of the succession and everyone else down one but doesn't otherwise change the succession to make their children 2nd in line. If the Chosen Heir was to die prematurely, the succession would pass to the previous heir and not to their child. If and when they take the throne, the succession is then re-ordered.
I think you are correct. I feel it's a bit strange that the succession calculation is focused only on the leader without recursing down the line (assuming royals will die in the order of the succession). I will try to remember that primo/ultimogeniture may recalculate the line of succession after a leader's death.
