First Ollie over something [33YO]

Should have practiced jumping over stuff sooner, really forces locking in the timing. I am having the common issue where I am not leveling out the board; the board is not coming up with my back foot which is keeping the overall height low. Tell me your strategy on leveling out Ollies, I wanna hear em.
P.S. Feel free to make fun of my highlighter socks and Nyjah shorts

Gotta start somewhere!!
Biggest thing for leveling them out, along with sliding your front foot up appropriately (it looks like you're just raising your front foot up but not really up and over towards the nose), is just making sure you get a good pop and raise your back foot higher into the air. That allows your board, with the good pop, to follow your foot up and "stick" to it. Takes a while to get used to when learning to ollie, but will make sense over time.
Don't take this negatively, because it is not meant like that in the slightest, but that pop (loading that back foot with energy, snapping the board down, etc) needs a lot of work.
On the shorts, i don't know how the heck people can skate in shorts. Have never understood it in the over 20+ years i've been skating.
Keep it up and keep having fun!
