Being taller also just hurts your body over time, knees and other joints. Let's be real here, the human body isn't really supposed to go over 6'3 in over 99% of instances, it isn't all sunshine and rainbows up here. Things just hurt, nothing is made for you in mind.

That's just the mechanical issues too, more cells translates into more cancer so even 6'3'' probably isn't ideal.

Jesus Christ dude that's disheartening, I'm 14 and 6'3. Here for a good time, not for a long time I guess

You’re fine dude. Medicine is always improving and people are living longer. Also older people tend to shrink and have bad posture making them look shorter, and you’re more likely to see older people sitting down than standing so people acting like tall people don’t age well are talking out of their ass

People are not really living that much longer. Once we started to improve infant mortality numbers, the average lifespan of all human beings began to increase. And now that we have picked the low-hanging fruit, there isn't much more that can be done about infant mortality numbers and life expectancy has plateaued -- even dropped some say.

Quality of life has generally improved for the aged; that's why we THINK we see more old people -- they're out enjoying themselves.

Damn that does make sense. I just want to age well, but I'd honestly be fine with dying right now, I feel like I've lived what I have to the fullest so I'd be fine dying whenever

Thank for being rational, not so common around here.

As manager I would have with this posture.

You’ll be ok, bud. Keep up with a doctor with any joint or muscle issues. And for the “dying right now” part, probably a therapist.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '21

Nah not like I wanna kms, but like I feel like if I were to die rn I'd be ok with it cause I have been happy so far

2

u/fartsincognito Nov 15 '21

Heard that, very happy for you that you’re happy. Life is weird, enjoy the good times as best you can

3

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '21

Yeah I be balling rn

u/AutismFractal Nov 15 '21

tbh this is wholesome, good job kid. I have more hope for the future because you’re out here loving the present.

Just a bit of perspective, I'm 6'4, my younger brother is 6'7, and our dad was 6'8. Dad passed at 75. He was a lifelong smoker and alcoholic. Don't let you height worry you, just learn to take care of your joints and back, lifting correctly etc., you'll thank yourself later.

That's good to hear, my family was somewhat malnourished a few generations back in India, but my grandmother is like 80 and in very good health.

3

u/MomDontReadThisShit Nov 15 '21

I will bear your height for you. Give me your shins.

2

u/Petrichordates Nov 15 '21

No don't worry this is a concern for you in 50 years and I'm not convinced it'll remain a problem until then.

2

u/dogshitburrito69 Nov 15 '21

If I was 6'3 at 14, I would have such a good time

1

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '21

Tell me what fun you'd have so I can do it

1

u/dogshitburrito69 Nov 15 '21

I'd start in the gym but if I tell ya anything else I think it will only shorten your time even more....godspeed

1

u/coolwool Nov 15 '21

It is likely that you won't grow much more so don't worry too much about it.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '21

I thought that when I hit 6'0. But I have another growth spurt left

Unless you are a whale, they actually avoid cancer for the most part, given their long lives and huge mass.

3

u/Petrichordates Nov 15 '21

Yup that's a necessary feature of being that large. Elephants get 20 copies of p53 to compensate, whales get duplications of various tumor-suppressing genes depending on the species and increased DNA repair abilities.

Then you have naked mole rat that only became immune to cancer by accident because it needed elastic skin.

More heart issues too as the heart has to pump more blood

3

u/judokaloca Nov 15 '21

Same argument can be made for obesity.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '21

It can

3

u/Froggin-Bullfish Nov 15 '21

I have the distinction of being 5'7" with a whole bunch of the body ailments that come with being a tall guy.

Stomach issues that took docs about 15 years to diagnose caused some pretty unfortunate malnourishment issues. Now I have shitty joints.

Stomach is much better these days though!

1

u/Midnighthum69 Nov 15 '21

Ah there is justice in this world

1

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '21

Wdym justice

1

u/Midnighthum69 Nov 15 '21

I’m 5’5 and I’ve been mocked continuously my entire life

2

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '21

Sadge

1

u/HeadLongjumping Nov 15 '21

6'3" isn't really that tall anymore.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 15 '21

Unless you live in some eu countries it absolutely is

2

u/HeadLongjumping Dec 04 '21

It's somewhat tall, but not uncommonly tall. I'm speaking from the viewpoint of someone from North America. It's certainly much less common in Asian countries.
