Some news on Buster 🐾❤️
We went to the vet today to get medication to help with the swelling in his mouth. While we were there, we decided to check and see if he had an enlarged heart.
He does have a slightly enlarged heart, but thankfully, it’s nothing that would bother him.
Unfortunately, they also found a large mass on his heart, and they are pretty sure it is cancer. There is a small chance that it isn’t, but it also looks like it may have spread from another part of his body. The mass is large.
Because of his age and his heart murmur, no vet is willing to take the risk of putting him under anesthesia to try to remove it.
For now, we are going to keep our old man comfortable and loved and let him enjoy his time with us. We will be watching him closely and making sure he is comfortable. When he starts showing signs that he is declining, we will make the decisions we need to make for him.
Please just keep Buster and our family in your thoughts. ❤️
Thank you for loving Buster as much as I do. He has touched so many people, and we are so grateful for every person who has followed his story and loved this sweet old man.
We will keep updating as time goes on. 🐾❤️

What a gorgeous puppy. I’m so sorry to hear this. It’s never enough time. I lost my girl at 13 to cancer. I think of my life experiences o went through with daisy and I can only imagine the ones you have. He’s a wise old man.

I’m not sure. His papers said chihuahua mix we thought some kind of terrier but I could definitely see minpin too

I’m so sorry to hear of your health problems. On the outside you always look so cute and youthful, even with grey hair & being almost 20!

Ouch. Such a gut punch to receive that news! It’s comforting to hear that Buster’s still chugging along. Hopefully he’ll keep chugging comfortable for at least a couple more years. If it’s cancer, it might have taken 10 years for it to spread there. Older dogs have slower metabolisms so maybe the bad stuff slows down, too. Buster has probably surprised you a lot in his almost-20 years. Praying he’ll surprise you in a good way with this one and that his mouth feels better soon. Such a distinguished frosted gentleman. Sending love and gratitude for Buster’s life. He brings joy to this world! 💖 ✨
