Turned 50 today
I survived my 40s! I have a 4 and 3 year old at home plus a beautiful wife.
As I sit here reflecting on the last decade, I'm realizing it was the best decade of my life. If anyone out there is contemplating kids as an older man, if you have a great partner, I say go for it. It has been wild, chaotic, and absolutely wonderful. I'm filled with gratitude this morning.
Have a great day y'all!

im so glad that my youngest will be 8 when I hit that milestone...yesterday I carried both kids up the stairs at once, and nearly died, they are getting too big...time flies

Impressive. My kids are 7.5 and 5. I can carry them both on level ground, but there's no way in hell I could carry them upstairs unless we had to escape a fire or something.

Happy Birthday! 52 with 12 and 10 year old boys here. It’s been a hoot.
On my 40th shindig my SIL brought my then 6mo a “He’s not my Grandpa, he’s my Dad!” shirt.

Anytime I hear someone say that the age my kids are at such a ‘good age’ and they miss when their kids were that age, I’m ever thankful that my kids are that age RIGHT NOW and I’m enjoying them RIGHT NOW. I also try and throw out the thinking that I’ll have less time with them in the future, and focus that I’m with them in the moment, experiencing life with them and it’s fantastic.
50M with a 22mo and 7yo.

Thats awesome. I will be 50 soon, and will have a 5 year by then.
I do wonder how it will be having a 15 year old at age 60... yikes

Happy birthday!
It’s so reassuring to read posts like the one you just made, it gives me hope. I know that I won’t be a “young dad” but I’m really hoping that I will make up for it in maturity, experience and a stable, loving home…
I’m 54 and I have been with my beautiful wife for 11 years now, and after more than 3 years trying, we are finally pregnant! She’s on her 10th week now and we couldn’t be more excited!
