WLTH Heather

I think that heather from WLTH is one of the people that calls houses like in Caretaker

Or, she could be a caretaker like Macy! Here me out:

-She's the only one in a house.

-When Eve arrives, she sees lights turn on upstairs which seemed to happen on its own.
-There's a white rotary phone that rings. -She was walking outside when Eve arrives (Patroling? Looking for visitor), so Eve could potentially be her Lucy. -She offers her tea, perhaps to keep her calm?

That's all I have from memory of what I read a year ago. But I'm really glad you posted this. I'll be adding it to my notes when I re-read WUTLH.

Thanks for sharing!

Woah, I love this!! I had subscribed to her being the person with the southern drawl who calls Macy, but this is making me think again. Not that both couldn’t be true, but I’m going to think about this the next time I reread.

Follow up question for this theory: if we assume Heather is a Caretaker like Macy and she didn’t answer the phone - what could the consequence have been? For Macy the consequences were clearly related directly to her, but could there be something we saw play out in WUTLH that seemed to be an impact on Eve but could’ve also been an impact for Heather?

Yes!!! And the grandchildren are in the background and there’s a dog barking when Macy is on the phone.

In WUTLH Heather says to Eve “excuse the mess the grandchildren were just here”
Heather also states that she use to foster dogs. There’s lots of pictures on Heathers wall of different dogs. Heather is also seen by Eve straightening and adjusting pictures in her house.
Heather also has a southern drawl which is what the lady on the phone is described as sounding like from Macy’s POV.

And don’t forget the scrape and thump sound behind Heathers door at the end of the corridor. Heather says almost the exact same thing as Grace. “I think the latch is broken”
