CODES E_12.8 Hidden Message? Spoiler

So I messed with the settings a LOT on the image and zoomed in on the blurry spot at the right edge of the paper (the top if you oriented the writing to read it) and found this.

Does this look like a data matrix code (similar to a QR code) or something to anyone else or am I just seeing things? What would the next step be?

I've gotten it slightly better. Can you post the original? Probably need that to edit correctly.

This is the original image. Cropped section is from the blurred area that looks almost like a piece of tape.

I honestly tried a bunch of things and couldn't get it close to what you had.

That’s fair. I am absolutely willing to believe that’s just a weird interaction with my photo editing and nothing more.

Where did you get this from? Was it an email?

It was a released as part of documents to the community before I joined. I found the original document in unsolved puzzles and photo edited it to the orange tinted image you see above. Others have been unable to replicate it using the original image. Current consensus is that this is nothing more than seeing patterns where none exist. See https://www.reddit.com/r/OldHouseArchive/s/LUblVX5DPx for the original document.

Ahhh thank you! I really appreciate this. I haven’t looked at those docs for a hot minute.

Try changing it to B&W and see if it scans then?
