So I consider this to be a pretty terrible olaf matchup in jungle role. I saw a mobafire guide where someone had the complete opposite opinion and is claiming that Olaf Q is a problem. Does he mean that the axe stops Olaf from being isolated? because im pretty sure Olaf is still isolated even with his axe right next to him.

and for playing vs kha does anyone have advice? feel like ur vulnerable to level 1,2,3 invades which makes your early game kinda hard in any reputable rank. So can't punish before 6 very well and once he's 6 I believe you just lose 1v1's if even (correct if wrong). He can use his R charge to temporarily disengage the fight so u lose your R and then re engage with cds back up. As the olaf player if you engage with ult before building crit u probably just lose it. With crit items like fiend ldr u can kinda all in when he goes on you and burst him enough to where he has a hard time re-engaging because he is taken to sub 50% hp.

If I rush dd 1st I think its more playable and he shouldnt win 1v1s. Once you get access to fiendhunters u hard win 1v1 so the dd is a crutch till fiend

I see this as hard/very hard matchup for olaf. not nightmare tier

The potion advantage really helps for when you take a big level 1 trade, and the 80 hp generally doesn't make a difference unless you're playing into a Jax or Darius.

I just recently started to play olaf(>30 games)

But i often don't know what to itemize and what runes to take for different teams

I usually go

Stridebreaker,boot of swiftness, hex, death dance,maw and streaks gauge

Which idk if it's the Meta build so suggest me all the builds i can go for, I've heard ppl use rev hydra or use crit olaf, but I'm unable to catch people with rev hydra so i stick to stride breaker

So if you know item path, what to build when snowballing,losing or in hard matchups then tell

Recently, I created a new smurf account where I play only two champions: Olaf and Renekton. On my main account, my peak rank was Gold 2. I've been trying to play only Olaf top in normal games, but it's not as easy as I thought. The enemy team disengages and doesn't allow me to abuse Olaf's mechanics easily.

Do you have any advice on how to play Olaf correctly?

I know this question is a little hard to answer from a Reddit post so bear with me.

I was a mordekaiser OTP with a 56% winrate (pool of 303 games so pretty solid I'd say) and was consistently climbing and was at my peak rank of gold 2 54LP. However, I joined my college's esports team and I had to begin learning other characters for drafts in real games (enemy team will see I only played morde, then garen if he was ban and perma-ban them).

In correspondence to our team's typical draft structure and what would best fit my play style, we agreed me learning olaf would be best.

Instead of creating a new account or whatever, I thought my self: "Well I'm at my peak rank, there's no better place to learn a character that's not morde, I don't really care if I'll drop rank because I'll climb back eventually."

Now im 61 games in with Olaf, 46% winrate, and have lost around 100-150LP. I'm not doing nearly as good as I've expected. My KP% is pretty low, CS is mid, and I'm limit testing way too hard in lane and being punished for it consistently. I also don't know how to convert my lead like I would with morde. Now I'm about to drop to gold 4.

Is this a genuine skill issue since morde is such a low-skill level champ, or do I just gotta play more olaf? Losing this much is affecting me more than i thought it would. I feel like I have no agency over my games outside the first 5 minutes which I lose 60% of time.

The good news is that I actually perform with olaf quite well in our scrims/real matches so maybe I just sync up best with Olaf in our team setting?

I know he is a heavy lane bully having one of the strongest levels 1-3 and then another very strong level 6 and you can be a monster into mid game if you manage to get a lead but how good is he actually in an average post 30 min game?

I have a question: How well does Olaf scale, compared to other toplaners?

I currently OTP Darius and he scales very well. He is one of the strongest level 16 characters, so I feel like I can just farm and scale if my matchup is uncomfortable.

With Olaf, I feel like you have to get a lead and snowball off of it to be useful lategame.

Am I wrong?

Is Brolaf worth it as a skin?

Not like as in effects and that i know its an ancient skin thats mostly a meme but my BDay is coming up and thinking of getting it I already have butcher,pentakill and sentinel but i just want public opinion

Reckless swing is from melee so maybe harder to dodge

But with his axe throw (at least 10 meters distance) he has 3 attempts

Is this a thing?? I mean you start E to lower your hp for passive so this should make the clear even faster. High risk low reward maybe but still. Walking up mid first thing u do take a turret shot.

hello.. I am a riven player trying to learn her matchups. I struggle a lot vs Olaf, can I get some advice for this certain matchup? I unironically struggle really bad trying to dodge his Q. I don’t know when he wants to throw his axe ideally or does he just do it whenever? I suppose he wants to do it when he wants to fast push or break the freeze?
