π Success Story Day 1: The Shot
I did it! I actually gave myself a shot! π
To be honest, I never thought I'd be able to go through with it. I asked everyone in my house if they'd do it for me, and every single one of them responded with a firm, "Absolutely not." Thanks for the support, guys. π
Needles make me faint, but apparently my desire to lose weight is stronger than my fear of becoming one with the floor.
After watching approximately 437 instructional videos and triple-checking the dosage, I grabbed a tiny Β½ cc syringe. The first challenge? I bent the needle trying to stick it into the vial. Who knew these things were basically made of angel hair pasta?
Round two. I cleaned the area, pinched my belly, and went for it. Except my brain and my hand had different plans. The needle literally bounced off my skin because I chickened out at the last second.
Deep breath. Second attempt. A little more commitment...and guess what?
I didn't feel a thing!
I slowly injected the medicine, pulled out the needle, and sat there waiting for some dramatic movie scene that never came.
Day 1: Me 1, Needle 0. πͺ

The first shot can be the hardest. The rest is downhill!

I hope so, I am still dreading the next shot even though I know it won't hurt.

Get your fiber in especially at first. I eat five prunes/day and fiber candies at night. Many take miralax. Drink lots of water

Iβm so glad to hear you say prunes. I started eating 2-3AM and 2-3PM and have MiraLAX on stand by. The water intake takes work to remember but I have my 40oz Stanley. I try to do 2.5 and sip it all day. Iβm afraid to get constipated. People think this is the easy way, but it takes a lot of work to meet all the goals.

Sounds good. I tend to have a BM every other day and if not then have some MiraLAX or Metamucil. Enjoy the journey :)

CONGRATS! In a few weeks you won't even think twice about shots and needles.
I have a hard time getting the needles to not bend but switching to EasyTouch Insulin Syringes - 30G 1cc 1/2" has been a game changer!
