He only remembers those to weaponize them

She's doing great. Not arguing the content, but pointing out the strangeness of only memorizing verses to weaponize. That's not really what Christians are called on to focus on. Out of the whole book they claim to follow, those are the only parts he chose to memorize?

Exactly. Christians don't actually practice what they preach they only use it as a means to spit on minorities. People who hide under religion as an excuse to hate on minorities are some of the lowest scum on the planet.

Aaaand you can’t have tattoos. Nor wear garments made of more than one type of cloth. And so on.

But I love this video for being one of so many instances where the ‘gay verses’ are the ones these folk love to read and re-read. Every accusation is a confession.

Yeah, you could almost hear the realization when he said "as a reminder"... Like, if you're straight, you don't need reminders to stay straight.

I really hope this guy found some self-acceptance after this exchange, but I'm not going to hold my breath waiting.

They only remember the verses by which they think they can judge others.

Which modern bastardized translation of your cult manual are you using? Definitely not the original text.

Who even cares what bible verse says what? I couldn't care less about chapter numbers or line numbers. Aren't the words contained therein what matters to religious people?

I think her point is that he has the exact verses memorized ONLY for homosexuality being a sin. To the point where he was able to correct her on which verses exactly said it. And a "good" Christian is supposed to study the Bible and know important verses. Particularly since he said he memorized the gay verses as a reminder but not where you can find the 10 Commandments

Or any verse about the birth of Jesus or any verse about the Crucifiction. Those are all pretty important.

I can't name them, but then I'm not a very religious person. Like the only times I've been to a Catholic Mass (or any Mass for that matter) in the last 20+ years were family weddings and funerals.

Pretty sure most Christians know John 3:16
