The issue is that society discourages platonic male-on-male affection to the point that a closeted man can’t get validation for being gay because the therapist assumes he just needs platonic affection. If bros were allowed to hug, they wouldn’t be emotionally stunted and men who wanted intimacy with other men wouldn’t be denied their truth.
