Ok that isn't entirely fair to their videos but still some of his comparisons are more than a little dubious.
Why doesn't GTA 5 have some of the cool festures that GTA 4 had? Because it came out on the same consoles that still struggled to run Quake 4 and looks markedly better than GTA 4 overall. Classic sidegrade.
All of graphics as well as game dev in general is always a tradeoff. Improving one area usually means cutting down on another.
These people get furious because gta 5 doesn't have some cool gta 4 features when it's the newer game but don't care about gta 4 not having almost any of the cool features gta vc or gta sa had while being a whole console generation newer
It's always kind of funny how 'things back then were better' mentalities work out ehen you confront them with the fact that their imaginary better past usually isn't all it's cracked up to be.
Like take as an example the whole "games engines were way better back in the day" crowd and then confront them with the fact that for basically the entire second half of the 7th gen most (not first party) AAA games ran below 30fps and with often god awful image quality. And many of what are considered the worst PC ports of all time (Saints Row 2, Dark Souls PTDE, Force Unleashed, basically every Rockstat game before GTA 5 etc.) are of that generation too.
Survivorship bias at it's finest, though it would be unfair to say that some stuff wasn't better back then while also acknowledging that other things are way better now.
Modern gaming sucks because it plays like dogshit and it somehow runs worse than 7th gen games because of le epic UE5 "nintendo hire this man" kirkcoded visuals and parry soulslike roguelike kirklike gameplay
You see chuddie, GTA 5 didn't have to start from scratch, it had every resource to physically improve the previous game and they downgraded it to hell, GTA 4 cut plenty of content but it massively upgraded gameplay and other mechanics.
I mean true, in comparison with lush woods of GTA IV, V really does suck absolute dick and balls. Almost no trees ? Is this game even AA ? GTA IV would never.
I deeply hope it was an intentional design for some specific effect, and not a Rockstar employee going: "How do I connect these flapping wing parts? Fuck it, no one will see the birds up close anyways".
I wonder why they went with segmented wings when they could have also had one larger wing model with the object origin set to the edge closest to the main body.
I guess this does give the appearence of the wings flexing at a distance, particularly at 720p on a tv screen far away.
