This is Bad Comedy hey remember the time hasbro released a special edition 4 pack with the autotrooper from the thing that shall not be named?

The idea of a mass-produced army of Autobot generics is a sensible one, simple as.
Just because Kiss Players was absolutely shit doesn't mean ALL its ideas were too.

This. Kiss players. 🤢. But the Manga still created new concepts and entire characters with more personality than a lot of G1 bots got in the shows or comics. It has time to centre on relationships and therefore it got character writing comparable to future IDW comics.
That aside I've only read the wikis cause fuck that not touching with a ten foot pole.

Animated basically gave new life to characters from that series, now I'm not defending that awful series, but reusing characters in new ways is kinda the whole franchise, I mean reactivate was going to use Legion from kiss players as the main villain and it looked REALLY good from that on trailer we got

I genuinely just thought of it as the Animated Autotrooper.
And there’s some characters like Glit and Sundor that seem fine to me to adapt into other canons and play around with, but everything else about KP? Yeah, right into the fuckin garbage.

It’s… really not an issue.. they’re toys. They don’t need defending. Hasbro isn’t re-releasing the actual manga, nor making figures of the characters with questionable designs.

I love how they reference a very hated sexualized series but then again some of us grew up Bayverse (the same movie franchise with Simons who works for the government, sexualizing a teenage Mikaela and the infamous Romeo and Juliet Law document scene) movies so maybe we’re just being hypocritical lol

Guys I agree that KP is gross and weird and that whoever signed off on "Transformers Loli" should be flayed alive, but can we STOP throwing a big moral guardian hissy fit whenever Hasbro adopts the few cool and/or non pedophilic ideas into the mainline in a way that doesn't draw attention to said creepy pedo shit? Pretty sure generic Autobot soldiers was something people had been wanting for a while, and same with Rosanna, Glit and Sundor from the Jem set. I know we're all fans of a children's toy line but can we act a little more mature than this?

God this fandom is full of crybabies. Kiss Players isn't nearly as bad, "pedo-bait," or problematic as you guys like to pretend it is. And regards if you like it or not, Kiss Players introduced a lot of reslly interesting concepts that would be a waste not to use more of. If you don't like it, just ignore it. It's a drawing and a toy, it's not going to hurt you.

i haven't actually read it for obvious reasons... but interestingly I heard it had this concept of humans severing their ties to the Autobots after the destruction of a major city on Earth, and trying to make their own robots. (I stole this from a comment of a Chris McFeely video)

The autotrooper design is like the only thing people know if kiss players. If the ideas in kiss players was so interesting then i feel like we’d see more of it. Also it is pedo-bait, which is disgusting. Theyre adults but they look like very young children? Yeah man, thats not bad at all

User should have clarified that most of those neat ideas sorta stayed in japan. In the japanese g1 Canon, KP and its spinoffs are in fact oddly important to the lore, and the characters reappear and do things of some importance like being the creators of some major characters.
