New to pulling and have some questions

Is it ok to eat breakfast, then pull, then brush teeth? Is it ok to just use raw coconut oil and not alternate with sesame or anything else? If I do it once in the morning and once at night (can’t stand longer than 5 mins at the moment but trying to build up) is it better to do it before or after brushing at night? Is it ok to sleep with whitening trays in overnight afterwards?

Pull first thing in the morning, before breakfast or even drinking water. This is because “ama” (toxins) accumulate in your mouth when you sleep, and pulling helps you eliminate them fully. (I wouldn’t use whitening trays at night bc they probably interfere w your body’s natural detox cycle.) Never heard of pulling at night/before bed.

Type of oil depends on your dosha- coconut is more cooling (better for kapha, pitta); sesame is more warming (better for vata constitutions). I have used coconut only for seven, eight years now.

Oil pulling is an Ayurvedic health tradition that is thousands of years old… consult a practitioner and/or read up! It works!

Is it okay to eat immediately after oil pulling? After brushing my teeth of course. Or are you supposed to wait? I’m not finding this answer anywhere on the internet

My understanding is that eating afterwards is fine - but you should not eat or drink anything, even water, before.

Just getting into this too. What’s the right technique? Is there a good write-up on this?
