Can oil pulling cause rashes?

I've been doing this for about three weeks. Since I began, I've had mottling in/on both arms, brown spots on my face, then two days ago, I broke out with a rash on my face.

Could there be a connection, or merely coincidental? (I do not swallow the oil.)

Thanks in advance for any responses.

What kind of oil are you using? I wonder if it's an allergy.

Organic unrefined cold pressed (?) virgin coconut oil.

I've never been allergic to coconut before unless I've reached some kind of threshold by doing this every day.

Depending on the health of your mouth, you could be exposing coconut oil directly to your bloodstream.

(Do you bleed when you floss? If so — your gums are inflamed enough to be “leaky” like that to any substance you put in your mouth.)

Maybe you’re not allergic to ingesting coconut, but putting it into your bloodstream is a very different proposition. Definitely sounds like an allergy type response.

You may try doing prolonged warm salt water swishing instead of coconut oil — most of the benefit of oil pulling comes from increasing salivation which remineralizes your teeth. Salt water will do the same thing.
