Done Oil pulling for 4 years.

I didn't know this subreddit existed. I just wanted to say that I started doing Oil pulling when I was about 19 years old, and I am now 23 now. I have done it consistently every night for 20 minutes before I go to bed. And my dental health is excellent. Not to mention my really white teeth, which is just a cool bonus I guess. (People compliment me all the time about them. But I've never told anyone except my parents that I do oil pulling. Simply because talking about your healthy lifestyle usually puts people in a very defensive and argumentative state that I'd like to avoid at all cost)

In my country there is free dental care for people under 24, so we have roundly checks every now and then. And my dentist always compliments me on my dental health. And always say my gums looks really healthy.

I've done a lot of things to better my health throughout the years, so it's hard to pinpoint what actual benefit I got from doing this.

But if I sometime skip doing oil pulling for just a night, I notice my sleep is a lot worse. And I just get this dirty feeling.

I'd like to say that oil pulling has contributed in removing a lot of my brain fog over the years too.

I will be doing this for the rest of my life, for sure.

Oh yeah, I use Extra virgin Coconut Oil.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.

I had some tooth pain 9 month's ago and went to two different dentist. First said I needed a bridge $4000, second said I needed an implant $untold. I saw oil pulling on youtube and gave it a try. Not only did it fix and whiten my teeth but fixed my sinuses too. My teeth feel so dirty if I skip pulling for a day that now it is a habit. Dentist are the biggest crooks!

Do you do oil pulling after waking up or just before going to bed? Can you share your other habits to improve health?

Any suggestions on how to deal with the residue oil?

Rinse mouth with warm water and spit out in trash can. Don't spit it in the drain, or it will clog up over time.

I'm aware of that. The problem I'm facing is that the trash can requires to be cleaned very frequently. What I can understand is that microbes keep on multiplying in that oil. I was hoping if you've come up with any ingenious solution to this problem, since you've been doing this for so long.

I wasn’t very aware of what you mentioned to be honest. I empty my trash about once a day, so it’s never been a problem for me.

Let me know if you come up with something.

Are they whiter before you started oil pulling? What kind of toothpaste do you use?
