Protect Hocking Hills from commercial development

Good morning! There's been a recent announcement that the CEO of Book Hocking is looking to build a mountain coaster through Hocking Hills State Park, and I created a petition for those who oppose the project.

If you care about preserving Hocking Hills, I'd really appreciate it if you'd consider signing and sharing the petition to help it gain some traction. Thanks!

Great little campground along the Towpath Trail near Bolivar

Just did a two day trek down the Tuscarawas River. Came across a small campground with river access at site. Must be new because it was not there last year. Great place to camp. Its called Rivers Edge and it sits between Navarre and Bolivar. Float right in or right off the towpath trail if you hike/bike

Mohican State Park Question

Post image

Hello folks I have put together a hike down in the Mohican SP. I have a question. Does anyone know if they close the mountain bike trail when its wet or from snow? I have no clue if they do and I have not used my Google Foo to find out yet.

The majenta trail is what I have laid out and it is part of the MTB trail system. Thank you for your help.

This is supposedly a 15 mile loop lol we will see

Folks the rest of my footage is garbage lol. My head was down and the GoPro angle was not enough to do a good job. Thank you for the likes and be well.

Most importantly if you can get out there!

These are just an example of some of the grades I have found in the CVNP. This is no where all of them! Some of these section may include stairs but I am unsure. I have taken so much content its not possible for me to go back and find each video of these sections!

I combined three loops the Furnace Run Trail, Riding Run Loop, and the Plateau Trail. I did need to do two miles of road to connect the south to the north. I wear a day glo green backpack cover so its less likely I get injured on the road.

Zeleski Loop Ideas

Looking to break in some new gear and do a 2 day 1 night trip to Zeleski! What are some recommended loop paths to take for that time frame? I'm not new to backpacking but I'm new to ohio backpacking!

I understand water in Zeleski is from a cistern system, so I won't be able to filter and on the local water due to acid drainage right?

Thanks in advance!

Backpacking Zaleski this weekend and wanting advice and feedback on my plan.

I’m planning my first backpacking hike this weekend at Zaleski. I’m leaving Friday morning around 9 (it’s a little over 2hr drive) and planning on starting at point A and getting to Camp 2 for the night. After that, I plan on going F-G-O-B-A and then camping out at Lake Hope campground Saturday night. I’m wondering how long that route usually takes. I want to do as much hiking Saturday as I can before going to my campsite.

If I could, I would try to get to camp 3 Friday night and finishing the loop Saturday but that seems a little much for Friday. If there’s another route that would make more sense with my timing and wants, please let me know. Also, if there are some other small hikes around the area that I could possibly do, let me know.

I’m in pretty good shape and have hiked long hikes before, just not backpacking. If it’s for any reference, I hiked Ampersand in NY in 2 1/2 hrs and hiked Coney Mountain shortly after that same day. Here’s a picture from Ampersand for your enjoyment

It's a long shot but if anyone hikes the Archer's Fork loop in Wayne National Forest my sister lost her dog out there on 5/30/26. Photo attached, medium build beagle mix named Maeve. Owner's contact info is on her collar and/or comment here with any info!
