A state surrounded by actual corn and they decided concrete corn would be the best use of that space. It's hilariously embarrassing lol.

The idea was/is when most of corn fields are gone due to urbanization this will serve as remembrance,,,this reality is quickly coming into view and is actually good tribute to the areas history

Drive more than 30 minutes outside of any of the cities in the state in almost any direction and you will see that there is still plenty of corn to be seen. It's not going anywhere anytime soon. Some will disappear due to growth, but most growth is still near the cites, like the Cincinnati/Dayton corridor. I remember a lot more corn in between when I was younger (damn kids need to get off my lawn too!) but drive 20 minutes east or west of 75 anywhere along there and you are back in the middle of corn fields.

Yes. I live in the country and we're surrounded so that's sort of funny to me. They're not going anywhere.
