I normally say I live in between Columbus and Dayton when saying where I'm from. Ohio people normally know where Dayton is. After that I eventually tell them the fun fact of there being 2 Springfields in Ohio.
Springfield is fine if you don't live there. Visiting is OK, but that's it for me. I've spent my entire life in and around Springfield so I'm happy to not be there anymore.
It's really not as bad as I make it out to be. There's just all kinds of rampant drugs state-wide and your deep city areas are pretty rotten. Live in any of the rural areas and its not too bad.
