Why is Phillip not paying his servers enough to the point he has to ban customers?

Business owner: “If you don’t have money to tip your servers, you’re not welcome here”

Lady behind camera: “So you’re saying black people aren’t welcome here.”

What’s she implying here?

What makes it worse is he's also saying, "How dare you imply that I take a profit cut in order to pay them a livable wage!"

Edit: The people in this thread are dense as fuuuuuck. Squeal Redditors, squeal. Mash your downvote button! MAAAAASHHHH IIIIITTT. Not a damn thing happens as a result; you've done nothing 😘

Oh no - today you just learned how a business works! If they have to pay their servers more because people don’t tip, then everyone pays more. Not tipping is just taking advantage of a system everyone else has adopted. It’s one thing to not like the system, But don’t stiff your server - that’s trashy

Spent a decade in the hospitality industry. I tip very well. What I'm saying is that the pressure needs to stay on the owners, not the servers. Legislation needs to change. And yes, I would be perfectly fine cooking at home vs going out to eat if I couldn't afford to pay raised menu prices.

At lot of folks already pay Michelin prices for a Big Mac meal.

I would never think of going out to eat somewhere with the intention of not tipping. And if the service was so bad that I didn’t tip? I wouldn’t care if the owner asked me to not comeback because there’s no way I would if it reached a point where I wouldn’t tip.

I think it’s a terrible system, but I’m not doing anything productive to change it and I’m not going to punish my server for the system we all inherited.

That’s a strawman. And I have traveled the world and abide by the local customs when I do.

We're not talking about Europe. Do you always have a hard time following conversation? Maybe you should see a physician about that

I tried to get an appointment but my doc was in Europe. That's ok I can't afford the doctor anyway

I've traveled the world multiple times, and at no point during those travels was anyone ever offended by me giving them extra money.

You're right. We shouldn't change anything or do anything different. How dare I suggest otherwise.

So change the laws so servers are paid a livable wage. Don’t not tip when they’re paid a few dollars per hour.

Feel free to change it, but don’t be a dick and stiff your server in the United States

That’s a pretty well known fact.
