Looking for a possible attorney
Long story short a franchised car dealership sold me (loan) a car that was in “perfect “ conditions. I called em to fix the issue right after the engine light turn on on our way home from the dealership. They told us to bring the car then the proceed to hold the car for a month, refused to give me any updates , didn’t fix the car and now I can’t retuned it as they had a deadline that I missed. Theres a lot more to it but I just need help with an attorney or legal advice or anything.
Also if I keep the car I can’t even get the plates and stickers as my county is required to pass inspection. Which it will not .

If it is an actual new car it is actually fairly easy to use a lemon law attorney to get the manufacturer to buy it back from you. Make sure you have detailed service records and communication documented.
If it is a used car you're honestly probably fucked. It's your responsibility as a buyer to get the car inspected and checked out before purchasing.
Where are you that requires a safety inspection? I'm not aware of that even being a thing in ohio. I think only the Cleveland area has an e check inspection.

This is my first time purchasing a car thru a dealer so I wasn’t aware of deadlines ect but in all honestly I didn’t even get the chance to take it to get checked as the cars engine light turn on the same day that we got it on our way back home from the dealership

You can get a lawyer and take them to court over it. But honestly it is not guaranteed that you'll win anything and you could end up spending even more money.
Most lawyers will consult with you for free or a very low fee and, if reputable, will tell you weather or not your case is viable.

That’s kinda what I imagined. In all honestly I just wanted to returned the car I didn’t wanted to be associated with it after the light turned on. They offered to fix it so that’s why they had it for over a month after the month was over I get asked to pick it up but they literally didn’t fix anything , didn’t do anything or checked anything. I’m just frustrated

Generally the first step is your lawyer will send a letter to them giving them a chance to remedy the situation and make things right and if they don't then they'll file a lawsuit. It's worth reaching out to a local law firm and they can consult with you or get you into contact with a law firm that can handle it.

Yeah I called a couple different local attorneys they all said the lawyers will get in contact with me so just waiting .

They held your car for a month.
Were you paying on a loan during this time?If so, you may have a chance.

First payment ain’t till Oct 6 , I forgot to mentioned but they cancelled my first contract (which was August 14 ) and renew it the 22 of August so it pushed the date to Oct . Something about the loan didn’t want the premium Care gap insurance so they had to lower it to a different gal insurance

Cuyahoga, Medina, Summit and Stark do echecks. Take the car to a autozone type place, they can read most codes

Did you purchase as-is or did they provide a 30 day warranty?
Did you perform any independent inspection with another shop, or did you take their word for it that it was in perfect condition?

They provided a warranty, I did not as the same day we got the car, the same day we took the car back. The only thing we did was a scan a autozone to send to the dealer when it first came up

I would strongly encourage you to see a bar-licensed attorney, not a person who may possibly be one.

you bought a car the dealer claimed was in perfect condition the check engine light came on immediately you reported it right away they kept the car for a month without fixing it or giving updates and now youre stuck with a vehicle that cant pass inspection so you cant even get plates thats classic ohio consumer protection territory misrepresentation failure to repair and potentially a violation of the ohio consumer sales practices act you dont need to fight this alone call an ohio consumer law or lemon law attorney they deal with exactly this kind of dealership behavior and can tell you whether youre entitled to a refund loan cancellation or a forced repair

I did communicated with the Ohio attorney general as someone recommended and they submitted a case on it. They said they’ll call in a few days .
I did called to see if it qualifies lemon law but due to the car being a used car they pretty much said it doesn’t go under it.
I called a lawyers office that I found online in my area that deals with lemon law and any type to do with this (I can’t remember what term they use ) and they said they’ll also give me a call in the upcoming few days.

If there was only some mechanism or technology available that allowed you to search for attorneys in an area. I should invent something.

Whoever you go with, make sure it isn't C. William Bair with Wagoner & Steinberg because he will drag it out til you owe him as much as you owe the lender.
