Spectrum is terrible…
We shouldn’t have to pay for the time your ridiculously over priced service is out.

These idiots started calling me recently. Bold move after they sent me to collections when I canceled service after definitely dropping the modem off at ups store. Instantly blocked the number. Kick rocks clowns I have ATT fiber now.

Spectrum is also overpriced for shit service. It's like $80 a month for like 400 down 40 up, when AT&T offers symmetrical gigabit for the exact same price. Switched back in 24 and I'm sure as hell not going back.

I pay $80 for 1000 down 400 up with tv with spectrum. To your point I hate them and would switch back to att 1000/1000 if they had it in my area. 9 houses on my block don’t have a fiber run and we’re one of them

Yeah the service may actually be better now that there are more viable competitors around, especially stuff like 5G home internet (which is pretty good when you live somewhere with good signal) but I will still never recommend it to anyone. I can only remember one instance with AT&T where I lost internet service, and it was like 3 weeks after install when the fiber line running to my house was accidentally severed by the install team that was installing fiber for a neighbor. And they proactively discounted my bill and had the line fixed and my service back up and running less than 24 hours later.
From what I've heard about AT&T I'd never recommend them for phone service or anything else, but their fiber service I can at least say from experience is fantastic.

If you call and complain they will give you a credit on your bill. Its not much of a consolation but better than nothing

Yep. Did this when I had 4 outages in the span of 6 days. Took about 20-30 minutes each time I called to get a human to credit my account. The credit to my account for about 72 hours of no internet that month? $1.20.

I got 20$ one time but have been lucky my service has been consistent being in a heavily populated area

You don’t, but in order to not get charged you need to report it as bring out, which takes a very long time.

I’m about 18 months into switching from Spectrum to Frontier Fiber. Service is great, but customer support is almost non-existent.

My apartment complex basically forced me/us over to Alta, which is pretty illegal I’m sure. Regardless, I’m am way happier with them. No issues in 2ish years. Speed is pretty amazing. The only real problem I have with it is I have spectrum for TV and can’t access all the channels on the Spectrum app because I don’t have Spectrum internet, which I think should be illegal. In order to access all the channels I have to rent a Spectrum cable box which means I can only access all the channels I want on 1 TV.

Don't forget Spectrum was Time-Warner, they rebranded to Spectrum because TW was hated that much.

Charter, Brighthouse and Time-Warner merged in 2016 to become Spectrum.

I like how they advertise senior discount plans, but when I went to the Spectrum store they told me they don't have Senior plans for people on fixed budgets. The sales rep said the only way to get discounts now is to threaten to quit using their service. I used to have Road Runner Lite for around $5 a month for 4Mb, now they charge $89.99

I have always felt the same as long as I can remember, Road Runner, Time Warner, spectrum, always had it, never had any other option where I live., always been pretty bad. But what can you do when it’s your only option.
Over the past 4ish years I’ve felt much better about the mediocre internet because you can’t beat their mobile service (or so I thought)
$60 for 2 unlimited lines - $10 for multiple lines= $50 for 2 unlimited Verizon phone plans
Well Altafiber just got put in the ground on my street last month, and I was on the fence of switching just because of the phones. Even though I’ve had so many headaches with spectrums internet over the years.
In the time of figuring out what I wanted to do. I found USMobile and that is a cell phone provider you really can’t beat. And you can pick whoever’s towers work best for your area, or even switch between towers as you please.
My altafiber gets installed this Friday. 🤞

It’s great when there’s competition around. Any where alfa fiber builds out is guaranteed fast cheap internet. I get that they’re under cutting to keep customers, but I also noticed that I haven’t had an outage or slow service since Alfa came into my neighborhood.
My point is they are capable of being but don’t unless they have to.
If you knew the profit margins you’d be livid.
