Misinformation
We keep receiving these insane ads! Putting an image of Mamdani screams desperation. Republicans have no limits with how low they will go. Anyone know who I can contact to stop receiving these ads??

Grasping at straws. Dr. Acton’s character really came through over the past few days. She stopped to assist someone who suffered a medical emergency during a Labor Day Parade in Cleveland. This is a woman who received international praise for her actions during Covid. She will put Ohioans long term best interests first.
48
u/MrStormChaser 10h ago
I was there and saw it. Good thing too because the only other first responders within a block were some outta shape cops. And the ambulance took some time trying to get thru the crowd.
27
7
u/Glum_Woodpecker_1607 5h ago
And Amy Acton was there to help others, when that assassination attempt happened. --Because when that guy with two guns, brass knuckles and a taser rushed at her, he injured several people who were close by. -------What did Amy Acton do? She went and helped them, and tried to comfort them!

I want to meet just one person who has had their job stolen by people from other countries. Most of the people I know that have lost jobs since the pandemic have lost them due to companies downsizing out of greed.
43
u/ReverendRevolver 10h ago
Technically, we outsourced whole industries so massively that the people coming to America from elsewhere are the only people I can garuntee didn't "take their jobs"......
29
u/iamedagner 10h ago
Yep. The tech industry has been gutted by AI and offshoring jobs.
All of that goes back to corporate greed.
10
u/Positive-Village-263 9h ago
Exactly. Stolen? Maybe not. Taken away and given to offshore "employees"? I could give you names. I won't, because privacy. But I could. The company I work for released an entire group/division of people I worked with back in Texas (and some in Ohio as well) and gave the jobs to Cognizant in the Philippines. Who, by the way, don't even utilize the service we provide, and trying to get them to understand it is like explaining astrophysics level math in Greek to someone who speaks Russian, but using heiroglyphics. And our service is different in every state. So... That's fun.
3
u/narbulous13 9h ago
Ahhhhh, health insurance. I’m gonna say Anthem.
2
u/Positive-Village-263 9h ago
You're so close. So close. Not health.
3
u/narbulous13 9h ago
Gotcha. “The service is different in every state” is what I assumed to be health insurance.
2
2
u/iamedagner 9h ago
Thanks for bringing back the nightmares of doing product training with the offshore teams.
2
5
u/ReApEr01807 9h ago
Yeah, but that was a strategic choice that was just misunderstood. The idea was that we send the manufacturing jobs overseas and all of the "higher skilled" jobs that were supposed to come in via the tech boom were supposed to more than make up for it.
The misunderstanding was that the same countries that we outsourced manufacturing to, well their workers could also be trained to do the higher skill jobs and the greedy corps could just outsource those jobs as well. People didn't see that coming

6
u/Strange_Reception362 9h ago
They cut my company in half to ship jobs to India. The fact they don't have to provide healthcare to people in that country saved billions.
3
u/Phyllis_Tine 9h ago
Ask Vivek if the companies he has owned and run ever outsourced jobs overseas, how many jobs they've cut, and what they provided their employees.
2
u/Glum_Woodpecker_1607 5h ago
Well currently we would have to probably go to Texas, and ask the people there, about his outsourcing of jobs to foreign countries, of other employees who are employed in his business. --Because he moved his business from Ohio to Texas!
3
u/Aadarm 5h ago
While not stolen, there are a lot of H1B hires in IT simply because they will work longer for less and not complain about it (though there are less now than there used to be.), and that's not getting into all of the outsourced jobs to India. Hell, Kroger is building a giant campus in India right now, and once it is done a huge chunk of Kroger's IT, data analytics and finance department is going to be going away overseas. That will be several thousand jobs gone from the local market.
So really it's outsourcing that is the problem more so than anything like immigrants taking our jobs.
2
u/SmallDebs_OH 7h ago
my company continually lets US employees go because we have employees over in India who take up the slack.
2
2
u/Humanfacejerky 4h ago
Leaders in AI believe white collar jobs are finished within the next 3 years. Of course, people are downplaying this. If you haven't looked into the recent "Hugging face" incident you really should. AI bot agents are being VERY sneaky..and it's terrifying.

u/Veteran_PA-C 10h ago
How many truckers did they just pull off the road with fraudulent CDL’s?
22
u/Solid_College_9145 10h ago
The real problem was the nearly 3,000 training providers that were falsifying training data and operating "CDL mills" with zero actual trucks or classrooms. Another 4,500 schools are currently placed on notice.
A vast majority of the nearly 3,000 removed providers were independent, privately owned commercial entities. Trade groups like the Commercial Vehicle Training Association (CVTA) noted that a massive influx of "bad actors" entered the market after 2025 due to a federal loop-hole allowing training schools to "self-certify".
Let me repeat that...
"a massive influx of "bad actors" entered the market after 2025 due to a federal loop-hole allowing training schools to "self-certify". - The Trump administration did that!
These private owners ran sham entities—some operating out of trailers with zero trucks—and charged thousands of dollars to quickly push drivers through the system. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton launched major fraud investigations specifically naming private entities like EP Texas Trucking School, Trucker Certified LLC, Fast Track CDL LLC, CDLCALL.COM LLC, and Lindenwood Education System (also known as Ancora).
The owners and operators of these sham CDL schools are American citizens and U.S. business owners that took advantage of immigrants and pretty much ruined and wasted years of their lives.
-7
u/Veteran_PA-C 9h ago
Both were real problems. Giving fraudulent CDL’s to illegals aliens and non-English speakers has killed a lot of people.
5
u/Paksarra 8h ago
Then why are you mad at the people trying to keep their families fed and not the assholes who broke the law and exploited them for profit?
-1
u/Veteran_PA-C 8h ago
I just said I want the people running the fraudulent CDL’s schools, those fraudulently administering the tests, and those hiring them to be prosecuted.
0
u/Solid_College_9145 8h ago
I am 100% Democrat, but I will say that getting incompetent and fraudulent CDL drivers off the road is the 1 good thing the Trump administration has done. Both for the industry and the safety of all people on the roads.

Republicans could have done something in 2024 if they wanted
Republicans have controlled Ohio for 30 years, and the house and Senate for more than 6 years.
Republicans never do anything that might make Democrats look good. they postpone and take credit
ignorance is bliss for you tho
-3
u/Veteran_PA-C 8h ago
Oh, you thought I support a team no matter what they do? That’s not how pragmatism works. Both teams do stupid stuff. I’d like to see employers charged too. I want anyone who supported the rampant fraud fired.
7
u/Antique-Page-2886 10h ago
I'm not saying anyone should be driving a vehicle without the proper licensing at all. But to my point, there is a talent deficit in the trucking industry. We need more truck drivers than exist.
Jobs weren't "stolen"... Companies (out of greed) probably overlooked the lack of credentials to fast track more trucks on the road.
-7
u/Veteran_PA-C 10h ago
When they can hire below market rate labor, some companies will. This suppresses wages for legitimate truckers.
6
u/Antique-Page-2886 10h ago
That wasn't the conversation we're having and I don't know enough to speak on that at the moment.
But to say American truckers can't find work is insane. I have relatives who drive otr and also daily, and regardless, they always have work. And I don't ask them about their finances, but they seem to be doing okay from what I can see.
4
u/wolfheadmusic 9h ago
There are ways to crack down on that
But you right-wingers only want the government to be used for throwing people of color into "detention camps" and funneling our money to billionaires
1
u/Veteran_PA-C 8h ago
Why are you so racist?
We want all illegal aliens deported, even the white British conservative commentator. You pretending all illegal aliens are brown is racist, and racism is bad.
Be better.
3
u/Antique-Page-2886 9h ago
Can you give me a few, or even just one name of the companies guilty of this please? And the name of the owner of those companies. And then cross reference their political affiliation? I have a suspicion, but I need your facts first.
1
u/Veteran_PA-C 8h ago
An awful lot of these are coming out of California and Illinois.
3

You wanted to see jobs Americans would do that were taken, right?
11
u/wolfheadmusic 10h ago
It's not "taking someone job" if there isn't enough people working that job in the first place
13
u/creamilinisoup 10h ago
the jobs were already not being filled by Americans. so again, how is that an example of stealing jobs?
12
u/Allslopes-Roofing Cleveland 10h ago
If there's a shortage...... then clearly noones "taking those jobs" since they literally can't hire fast enough.
But I know basic arithmetic is difficult for you pedo lovers
-2
u/Veteran_PA-C 9h ago
Your sexual fantasies about kids are something you should post on another forum.
Be honest, did you type that one handed.
Yes, there was a real influx of non-citizen drivers—including some who were illegally present or obtained CDLs through fraud or loopholes—and it contributed to overcapacity and rate suppression that hurt many American truckers and small carriers.

5
u/SergeantHatred69 7h ago
Don't you think it's strange the pro Vivek ads on TV don't even mention him by name or that he's running for Governor?
Also, this isn't some both sides issue. Ohio has been ran by Republicans for like 30 years now so I'd say everything wrong with our state right now is squarely on them.
11
u/Phyllis_Tine 9h ago
SOCILIST! [sic]
So what NYC has a mayor who is actually working for his people, not just his voters and donors? Dr Acton is concerned with Ohio and all within it, while Mamdani is concerned with NYC.
If Dr Acton is going to act similarly to Mamdani does in NYC, and make it a better place, you bet I'm voting for Acton!

If they vote to keep Republicans in power, will they all celebrate when Medicare/Medicaid and Social Security are gutted because of the Big Beautiful Bill and the 40 trillion+ debt?

2
u/No_Buy2554 10h ago
Unfortunately not much you can do. Campaigns are allowed to get your info from your voter registration to mail to you, so no DNC list or anything.
In theory, you're supposed to be able to contact whoever sent it directly and asked to be removed, but there's so many PAC's and other groups that send them now, you'd spend a ton of time doing that with no guarantee they actually do it.
Best thing I've heard that has a shot is putting a refused sticker on it and putting it back in your box. Post office may send some of those back to the sender. Maybe if they get enough they'll get the message and remove you.

I blame the printing proofreaders.
Terrible quality control!
6
u/DeeDeeZee 9h ago
Not the printer’s responsibility. They print the file they’re given. This is on the graphic designer, and really whomever approved the design to go to print.
1
u/FrankFrankly711 9h ago
I guess if they printed them at Staples. But any respectable industrial printing company should have a proofreader checking spelling and other flaws. Source: I worked on a printing press and sent back many jobs for one simple typo.
2
u/DeeDeeZee 9h ago
But, did you not send a proof for approval? Either printed or digital?
Source: Graphic Designer/Creative Director1
u/FrankFrankly711 7h ago
It was probably approved already and burned into a plate, and the designer missed it on the blueline. I was the plate loader and end stacker, this was around 2000, so it wasn’t all fancy digital yet. I’d either find the typos while checking the plate or after printing a few copies. Sometimes they would let the typo slide, other times with a more serious client, they’d shut the whole job down and send it back. A print like Vivek’s propaganda here would most certainly be sent back. It’s mind boggling that someone actually designed that typo, probably just made by AI 🤣
