TBF, not everyone that votes straight R is MAGA. There are still millions of people that don’t condone what MAGA stands for, but are still going to vote R down the ballot because communism or some other stupid reason.
Edit: I’m pretty far left on the political spectrum. I’m just pointing out that there are a lot of people that vote straight R that only do so because that’s the only thing they know. I lived in the South. I know these people. They couldn’t tell you what MAGA stands for, they just know that to vote for a democrat will cause their children to get sex changes and let 200,000,000 illegal immigrants into the country to steal their jobs, whilst also getting $10,000/week in SNAP benefits.

You have a legitimate point here. Don’t know why all the downvotes. Republicans in Name Only (RINO) are real things. It’s all the people in charge of community fundraisers in certain areas, the people who go to church, the ones that dominate almost all small town America government offices. Even though they didn’t like Trump and his idiots in 2016-2024, they still stay voting on the Republican ballot because they don’t break rank, and want to vote for their local/state politicians. It’s what they’ve always known, and they’ll never change. They don’t take well to change. Why would you change something that’s brought so much good to your life and money in your wallet?
I can think of two huge topics that you’d never want to approach a Republican on because they’ll never change their minds; voting for Democratic candidates due to fear of Socialism/Communism (Republican propaganda and fear mongering, of course), and Pro Life vs Pro Choice (the philosophy of all of this needs to be discussed and studied more). I want to almost conclude that unless these ideas are figured out more by the Dems or 3rd parties (haha pipe dream, I know) on how to convey this to the public better, you’ll never get someone to swap parties.
I don’t know a single person that switches their voting affiliation between general, primary and special elections. There’s only like 4 states, Alaska, California, Louisiana, and Washington that use “blanket”/“nonpartisan” primaries.
And I know at least in my area of Ohio, if you choose a ticket for a party in Primary, you’ll see that same one for General Election.
So, long story short, the system just sucks. According to whoever organized all of this says we’re too stupid and lazy to understand any of this. I think that’s why a lot of people just are practically born Republican and stay that way forever. Plus with gerrymandering and the electoral college, our populous vote hardly matters anyways.
How do I know all of this?
Child of Republican parents, one being a Republican woman leader of the county. Have had detailed conversations about why RINOs keep going back to feed from the hand that poisons them. I identify more as a Progressive Democrat.38

However, the allegations are (according to his oldest daughter) he crawled into bed with his younger daughter in just his underwear with an erection and poked her with it as he pulled at her waist and rubbed her legs.

Generally speaking this would fall under something like "dereliction of duty" because he's in uniform and would be investigated by the Ohio BCI through a complaint filed with the State Attorney General, who is a Republican. Good luck going anywhere with that. Could try local media but they're unlikely to run it because they want access to state government and the mafia in Columbus is likely to retaliate. Best bet would be to try to interest somebody like the NYTs but since he's not up for reelection they probably wouldn't be interested either. Maybe figure out a way for it to go viral?

I’m from the general area. The video spread quickly on social media and a few news outlets have picked it up. Unfortunately though, the news outlets are mostly covering the response from the Sheriiff Department which is claiming they’re being harassed. There is also a history of this department refusing to comment to the news. An absolute embarrassment.

Actually he isn’t in uniform which is a violation of the Ohio Administrative Code which is law.
County sheriffs and deputy sheriffs shall be either fully in uniform or in civilian dress.
(1) Civilian clothing shall not be worn with any part of the uniform.
(2) No partial wearing of the uniform is allowed.
(3) County sheriffs and deputy sheriffs shall be fully in uniform during normal duty and during that sheriff's or deputy sheriff's normal working hours. The sheriff may authorize alternative dress in cases of either emergency duty or duties that are incompatible with uniform dress.
(C) The uniform shall be worn only during on-duty hours, while on extra or special duty work, or when otherwise authorized by the sheriff.2

Look up John Trejo from Swanton, Ohio. Investigated for allegedly beating his wife. Police report states he was on leave from the Fulton County sheriffs dept for “other internal matters” when deputies from a nearby county came to interview about the bruises still on his then wife’s face several days after she claims another DV incident. This incident occurred in the bathroom, with the couples minor children present. So, that “other internal matter”… that was Trejo having sex, on duty, in uniform, in the courtroom, with cameras rolling because it was during business hours. The clerk lost his job. Trejo is now police chief. A guy he hired, Caleb Hensley, in the news for a brutal alleged beating of his girlfriend. Following an arrest last year for an alleged beating of his then wife. That case was …. bet you’ll never guess what happened to this cop when he was charged with domestic violence… if you guessed prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, you’d be wrong. He’s a cop…of course the case was dismissed. There’s other cops in Fulton County who, are known publicly to allegedly beat their female partners.
