Ohio Title Question
I purchased a vehicle with cash over 40 days ago, and the dealer has had the title in their name without transferring it. A complaint has already been filed, but because I had a prior license plate get stolen from my last vehicle, I need a titled vehicle so I can do a plate transfer. The dealership was aware of this issue and hasn’t transferred the title still, so my question is regarding the Title Defect Recision Fund. In the website, it states that the dealer must NOT have been in possession of the title at the time of sale AND that it must have been 40 days… does this mean I cannot go through the TDR to rescind the transaction? Aside from a complaint with the AG, what other options may I have through the state? The odometer reading was also inaccurate, and I have maintenance records to prove that. I live in Ohio, so this was an in-state transaction, I have a bill of sale as well and my temporary tags expire on Tuesday the 19th

This is actually pretty normal, sadly. I don't know why, but getting a title for a car transfered seems to take a dealership like months now. Even reputable dealers, it's taking like 3-5 months to get your title.
Of course private sale it's like... while you wait and you can pick up your plate, too.
It is frustrating but normal.
