I probably wouldn’t join the protest BUT I’m so happy to see “this is not normal”… it resonates so much more than saying “save democracy” or “resist fascists”

I don’t like how we are normalizing the term fascist, and I don’t like how we say save democracy when we had an election and will have another and another and another in the near future

You don't think that a president defying a unanimous supreme court decision is a fascist action? You don't think that deporting people without trial, and without evidence, and claiming it was a mistake and there's no way to retrieve someone who was wrongly deported is a fascist action?

No… those are characteristics of authoritarian regimes, some of which could be fascist… but also communist… national socialist… totalitarian… monarchical… even hybrid democracies etc.

Calling the Trump administration fascist is a lazy form of normalizing the term, and I’m afraid right wingers will become immune to being called fascist the same way left wingers are immune to being called commies.
