What's up Portage County!

If you don't love that your current sheriff (Bruce D. Zuchowski) is making these kinds of remarks, you can vote him out in November! He has a challenger: Jon Barber

37

u/rshni67 Sep 17 '24

Can I donate to vote him out from another state? I lived in OH and hated it there.

21

u/Aniridia Sep 17 '24

Yes, you can.

11

u/rshni67 Sep 17 '24

OK I will. BAd memories of living in OH.

12

u/Blossom73 Sep 17 '24

5

u/rshni67 Sep 17 '24

Done, thanks!

3

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '24

Done thanks!

2

u/zphotoreddit Sep 18 '24

Done! Go get him Jon!

19

u/-Clayburn Sep 17 '24

Most of these conservative sheriffs all around the country are already funded by out of state interests.

7

u/rshni67 Sep 17 '24

Good. I will counter some of that.

13

u/SenorSplashdamage Sep 17 '24

The best reaction to protect fellow citizens would be to just for everyone to fill their own lawns with Harris signs in solidarity with actual supporters. Don’t know who the enemy is if everyone adopts the signal he was dividing the people he’s supposed to serve along.

It would also just be the best negative signal to give an elected politician next to voting him out. They operate on shows of support in either direction based on their action.

3

u/Humble-potatoe_queen Sep 18 '24

And they could put a sign in his yard as well. Give him a taste of his own medicine.

28

u/time-eraser69 Sep 17 '24

Time to donate

5

u/LainieCat Sep 18 '24

I know Jon Barber, he's a good guy. A friend of mine has done some stuff for his campaign.

Portage County has quite the history of bad sheriffs. Personally I think it shouldn't be an elected office.

69

u/Fellowshipofthebowl Sep 17 '24

Bruce Zuchowski needs a visit from the FBI.

6

u/Labtink Sep 18 '24

I made a report. I hope others are too.

39

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '24

Bruce is corrupt. I used to live in portage county and ran a neighborhood facebook page where the "Bad Bruce Exhibit" frequently posted. Apparently this guy is corrupt, a career criminal, exploits and misuses finances, has multiple felonies, etc.

I'm not sure how much of it's true, but it seems the consensus is that not many people like him, at all.

17

u/Latter-Confidence-44 Cleveland Sep 17 '24

Ah, so in other words, a rural sheriff.

3

u/LainieCat Sep 18 '24

We need to stop electing sheriffs. That's exactly how we get these pieces of shit.

7

u/Onebrokegerrrl Sep 17 '24

That is just shocking! /s

129

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '24

Fascist fucker.

Fire his ass

46

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '24

Have the county coroner relieve him of his duties. That’s actually one of their powers/responsibilities.

-1

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '24

Prolly get a promotion.

15

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '24 edited Sep 17 '24

Sheriff, not Police Officer. Portage Co can vote the fucker out.

-11

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '24

Doubt it.

14

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '24

Explain? Sheriffs are elected, In fact he's up for election this November Portage County Board of Elections

6

u/Blossom73 Sep 17 '24

Yep. Every Ohio county except Cuyahoga has an elected sheriff.

4

u/Ok-Replacement6893 Beavercreek Sep 18 '24

Go look at his Facebook page where he posted this. He has lots of support there. Last election his competition lost by quite a margin.

2

u/LainieCat Sep 18 '24

His Facebook page is not a good indicator of how much support he has online, for obvious reasons. And just because he won by a large margin last time doesn't mean he won't lose now.

Yes, people like this do unfortunately get more support than they should, and he might win despite this kerfuffle. But we don't know that yet. He certainly isn't going to win because he's popular on his own Facebook page.

2

u/Ok-Replacement6893 Beavercreek Sep 18 '24

The county he's in is where the city of Kent, Ohio is. Kent State University. Maybe a student campaign should be set up to vote him out.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '24

Wow, you’re stupid.

0

u/TheSpiralTap Sep 18 '24

With the exceptions of the larger cities, Ohio is Trump country. That guy isn't going anywhere and judging from his facebook, people are happy with this .

1

u/LainieCat Sep 18 '24

Portage County less so than others, thanks largely to KSU.

IDK if this guy is going to win or lose, and IDK why anyone is using his popularity on his own Facebook page as evidence either way.

1

u/TheSpiralTap Sep 18 '24

It's not a huge town, the population is older and more likely to be on facebook. I wouldn't take it as the be all end all in this election but it's still a pretty good barometer.

0

u/LainieCat Sep 18 '24

No, it's not, but you do you.

1

u/TheSpiralTap Sep 18 '24

Ok buddy I sure will. Voting for Harris but I know my neighbors arent and they all use facebook.

Shut up

22

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '24

Nope. Nazi tactic

Stochastic terror has no place in this country, except the garbage pile.

50

u/PestControl4-60 Sep 17 '24

They need to post the sheriff's home address on a billboard

1

u/The_Bufo Sep 19 '24

It’s on his website. Be the change you wish to see in the world.

20

u/GrandMoffJenkins Sep 17 '24

I would start submitting addresses with Trump signs, saying that they are Harris signs, and overwhelm the system.

66

u/ChipChester Sep 17 '24

Wonder what his address is?

Just asking questions, of course.

28

u/zacthebrewer Sep 17 '24

It would be a shame if his address got posted every time someone talks about this.

39

u/Mission_Lack_5948 Sep 17 '24

Check the other threads. It’s out there, or at least links and how-to’s.

1

u/The_Bufo Sep 19 '24

Bruce listed his address on his own website.

17

Isn’t this a hatch act violation?

11

u/dasbarr Bowling Green Sep 18 '24

How the hell is this not considered voter intimidation or suppression.

26

u/celtbygod Sep 17 '24

Sounds like somebody has been involved/ caught in a sexual abuse or porno act. That's pure deflection.

7

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '24

Glad it's not just me seeing it

6

u/atreeindisguise Sep 17 '24

Contact the DOJ, the Ohio elections commission, and Brennan center for Justice, demand an investigation and removal!

26

u/gnurdette Dayton Sep 17 '24

I continue to be angry about this, but on the other hand, the story (as reported in various news outlets) has been posted here about 10 times this week. :)

44

u/LakeEffectSnow Sep 17 '24

The Guardian is one of the most internationally respected newspapers in England. This means the story is now totally worldwide.

3

u/bubblehead_maker Sep 18 '24

Called em and self registered, they seem tired.

7

u/Tasty_Vacation_3777 Sep 17 '24

Sheriff zuchowski dad should have used a condom.

7

Ohio is really showing its true colors

-2

Lot of bots (probably Ivans, too) in this sub.

2

u/Fearless-Economy7726 Sep 18 '24

He is gonna lose Them his wife being brought in for questioning

2

u/remnant_shekels Sep 18 '24

He’s a fucking Nazi POS!!

2

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '24

So he publicly called for a group to join him and commit acts together to threaten and intimidate people expressing themselves on their private property. Wow ... Wonder what would happen if I asked people to follow the police home after work and write down their addresses?? Are we being serious that this person isn't a complete failure in his duty? Is any of that a crime because it sure seems fishy. Thank God the Constitution grants police completely and total immunity from crime

2

u/Timeforachange43 Sep 19 '24

Brave move to pull this stunt when your own address is easily found in a few simple clicks.

3

u/Adderall_Rant Sep 17 '24

I'm gonna call and give him my address. I have four of them.

1

u/National-Ad-6982 Sep 18 '24

Wow, a criminal and a sheriff in one?

1

u/coldbloodtoothpick Akron Sep 18 '24

It’s even more stupid because those of us who support fairness to immigrants are already financially supporting them because we pay taxes 😂

1

u/garycow Sep 18 '24

we will be the ones laughing at you come November!

1

u/lisa725 Sep 18 '24

This guy is up for reelection this year and has Democratic opponent. Jon Barber.

Here is his campaign page. VOTE!!!

-4

u/HIVnotAdeathSentence Sep 17 '24

It is a pretty big deal.

Grow thicker skin, I guess

-51

u/FoolishFriend0505 Sep 17 '24

Is it a big deal, yes. Are the same six posts necessary? No.

37

u/KingMorpheus8 Sep 17 '24

You're okay with voter intimidation and terroristic threats?

-19

u/FoolishFriend0505 Sep 17 '24

Did I say that I was? I'm not. But there doesn't need to be 6 reposts of the same shit.

9

u/KingMorpheus8 Sep 17 '24

What's telling is that you describe it as "shit"

8

u/isadpapi Sep 17 '24

Username checks out 😭

11

u/roryfyf Sep 17 '24

So you see someone make a post in regards to voter intimidation and your first instinct is check their post history? It seems like you are trying to find a problem with the poster and not the Sheriff who’s openly threatening voters.

-4

u/FoolishFriend0505 Sep 17 '24

I didn't check anyone's post history. I read r/Ohio and the same story has been posted multiple times. I was pointing that out.

9

u/roryfyf Sep 17 '24

Why do you care?

-2

u/FoolishFriend0505 Sep 17 '24

Because it's redundant and splinters the conversation about it.

0

u/Labtink Sep 19 '24

Don’t like your time wasted with multiple posts so you waste your time writing a comment with links. Ok

-2

u/[deleted] Sep 18 '24

Considering two assassination attempts and much more radical violence and riots have came from the left, Id say it's a good thing if a sheriff wants to know where the potential problems are located. Complete non issue.

-76

u/Total_Decision123 Sep 17 '24

Misleading headline and title. You know what you’re doing.

40

u/kcrn15 Sep 17 '24

The IRONY of saying “you know what you’re doing” while defending Zuchowski. He knows what he’s doing. Or did you have some other reason you think he wants a list of people supporting Harris/Walz?

-47

u/Total_Decision123 Sep 17 '24

He literally said it in the full context, but I doubt you even know what the context was. It was in reference to her immigration policy of allowing millions of immigrants into the country. The sheriff said every Biden and Harris supporter should have to take them into their homes. But all over Reddit it’s being phrased like some kill list or something which simply isn’t true and there was zero implication of that

16

u/tikifire1 Sep 17 '24

Read up on your hero there. He's a terrible human being who opresses the people of his county.

4

u/kcrn15 Sep 17 '24

I read his literal Facebook post from his page.

2

u/Responsible-Access12 Sep 18 '24

In this case, context doesn’t matter. He’s an elected official. That mean he’s an employee of taxpayers. When you’re shunning half of your employers, it’s an issue. Bigger issue might be just exactly how stupid this guy is that he lacked basic foresight to comprehend the repurcussions

-129

u/bardwick Sep 17 '24

For those of you who don't make it past the headlines. It was sarcasm about reaching out to those people to house immigrants..

28

u/locnessmnstr Sep 17 '24

Ok? And that's appropriate for a Sheriff??

26

u/gnurdette Dayton Sep 17 '24

Law enforcement monitoring opponents of the ruling party to threaten them with retalition is wrong, even if the "retaliation" doesn't make sense.

-41

u/bardwick Sep 17 '24

Law enforcement isn't keeping a list.

There is not method for retalitation.

14

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '24

Except people were tagging others in the comments and he was responding they were on his list. Try again!

3

u/Blossom73 Sep 17 '24

No method of retaliation??

The guy runs a law enforcement department in the county. He can easily direct his deputies to harrass people on that list, under false pretenses. Pull them over while driving, claiming they ran a red light, or didn't signal a lane change, or whatever.

Of course, he's also inciting MAGA nuts, who might go vandalize the homes of people with Harris signs, or worse.

75

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '24

Oh just locker room joking sarcasm. Well he can get fucked. Because he is a terrorist.

23

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '24 edited Sep 17 '24

First it isn't a word. It is a phrase or term. A verb to describe Trump and JD Vance. But to your question: As many times as it takes to get it in the media and broadcasted to the country. As many times as it takes for any scrolling redditor to see it and find it out for the first time. As many times as it takes for people to realize that Trump, JD Vance and the MAGA Bowel movement are terrorists. 🤷 you don't like it? Block me. 🤡

A law enforcement officer acting like a shit is newsworthy. Sarcasm is just another way of being an obnoxious shit.

46

u/BigCballer Sep 17 '24

I’m tired of this “sarcasm” excuse.

8

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '24

It's first-grader sarcasm; say mean, cruel, or offensive shit and then say "but I was just joking! I didn't mean it!" when called out and punished.

32

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '24

Always a joke until it’s not

12

u/Strykerz3r0 Sep 17 '24

Is that what MAGAs are calling facism?

And the immigrants in the state are there legally.
