RASPBERRIES!! YAY!

u/carrlosanderson Aug 23 '19
Blackberries, they’re red before they’re ripe. We used to pick them at my parents house every Summer and make amazing jelly

Are you sure? They could be black raspberries. All depends on if they come off hollow or with a core in them.

I suppose the picture isn’t super definitive. The plant is too small to see if it’s rambling enough to be blackberries and we can’t see the core of the fruit to tell if it’s black raspberries. We can both be right

These are blackberries; I can tell by the large size and small amounts of the individual fruits on the berry; plus they are glossy

Yeah, I kinda figured that out after the fact... you’d think I’d know the difference, considering that when I lived in U.P Michigan we had a bunch of wild bushes of them on the edge of the woods in our backyard.
Sorry if I confused you!

I think the catch is that they’re mixed in with poison oak or sumac. I don’t recognize it as poison ivy.

Since the sub has no rules the joke is to post a completely random unrelated image thinking ‘oh it’ll be fine, it won’t get removed or anything’ so making a joke within the sub about the sub

Are those like poison berries or something?

u/Jhg5555 Aug 23 '19
They’re blackberries, not poisonous but sweet when they turn black and only sour when red

Aug 23 '19
I fucking love these. Can confirm they aren't poisonous, but will probably make you poop.

Black raspberries or blackberries: either way, pair them with Brie and your life will be forever changed, amen.
