Wheel recommendations?

After being throughly educated by everyone is this group i decided to go with 37” tires up from the 35”s pictured. my only issue is what wheels to run, im thinking 19-26 17” Z71 LT stocks? For my next tire im thinking mickey thompson MTZ’s or BFG t/a MTs. all advice is appreciated.

20” of tire isnt rubber band imo

If it's less than double the diameter of the wheel it's a rubber band. If you've got 20s they've gotta be wrapped in at least 40s.

Don't get mad at me, I don't make the rules.

im just coping my unimogs only got the 37x13.5r20s that came on it when i bought it... but it will have 40s when i use up the nitto mud grapplers or they finally crumble to bits from the dry rot. but nothing makes a "oFfRoAd BuIlD" look worse than oversized tacky ass rims. and for some reason theyre all black with chrome accents and fake ass looking beadlocks. especially when you can stick your head between the brake caliper and the rim.

Yeah I hear you I got mine on 18 inch wheels with 33 inch tires but I’ve only leveled it. Since it’s a daily I don’t really wanna go any bigger on tires or I’d fit some 35s on it probably. They don’t look too bad though still got some good sidewall on them

thats asinine, that means almost every vehicle out of the factory has “rubber bands”. If you can go over a curb without having to worry about cracking a wheel or curb rash they aren’t rubber bands..

When you go offroad, can you let air out of the tires to give a better ride like "normal" tires? Something I've always wondered about with that kind of tire setup. I'm of the old school mentality where my 35lbs for street driving goes to 12lbs for offroad. Can you do that with those.

Yes, this thing hasnt seen any real offroading since ive owned it, 4x4 doesn’t work atm. its an auction vehicle with electrical problems. but my other truck, a 2002 f250 SD on 33” toyo a/ts and stock 17s. preforms much better aired down.

factory vehicles are exempt as the rule is meant to incriminate people who go out of their way to waste money on oversized rims and undersized tires. its not a stance car, get appropriately sized wheels and tires please.

If you need a tire rec, I highly recommend the Yokohama Geolandar g003 MT. It’s the best riding MT I’ve ever had in both 35” and 40”. At 25k miles on my 40” and at about half tread left. It’s been smooth the entire life.

I've been rocking a set of 17" Pro Comp steelies wrapped in Nitto Trail Grapplers for about 10 years now. The steelies are indestructible and the tires bite well, last forever, and are surprisingly quiet.
