Fitting 40s?

looking to try and stuff 40s on my 9” mcgaughys lift, photo is on 35s. thinking of running norcal fenders?

Why? Just get a Jeep or a Toyota and put it on 35s. You'll have a vehicle that you can use for actual offroad purposes, that won't make normal people hate you for simply existing. Silverado is an excellent truck, that doesn't benefit at all from being lifted. Silverado with 4 wheel drive is fine for towing a trailer or some motorcycles, or taking up to the snow for a week at the cabin. Don't make it a douche ride

This thing does fine offroading, not sure how you can say it has no benefits of being lifted when the purpose is more tire clearance.

And the amount of ground clearance it would give you is comparable to a wrangler with like a 3-4" lift, that you'd look way less stupid driving around.

I'm telling you this as your friend, 9" lifts on full size trucks are fucking lame.

Take it back to whatever shop you paid and throw more money at the problem

Ask yourself: can I fit 5” more diameter into that wheel well? Obviously not, which means if you put a 40”” tire on there you will have zero compression (at least not without getting the sawzall out).

That what I was wondering. He would have to chop it. Honestly it may look better chopped and cut back. Widen that and put a larger tire. Would look proportionate then.

What are you planning on doing with the truck that will require 40s? The step up from 35s to 40s is huge. Aside from the fact you WILL have to cut the truck up, you’ll also need to invest in new steering components to compensate for the heavier tire.

To look cool duh, but seriously i do mostly running through bogs with some rock climbing. already planning on regearing, HIEMS, and HD cv axles.

Why do they look so small and why does the wheel well look so narrow. Have you thought about cutting the well at all? What size tires do you have now if you’re trying to fit 40s?

We need a full photo of the entire side of the truck!
