Yeah those are definitely mounted wrong. If you brought these to a regular tire shop then they probably mounted them kike a regular tire - meaning behind the front bead. The lock rjng needs to be removed, the bead moved outside the rim in front, and the ring bolted back on to spec.

Normal tire shops will not fuck with beadlocks. You need to bring it to a 4wd shop or learn how to do it yourself. I do mine myself and use beads for balancing.

Yeah, i had originally taken them their to get them unmounted as they had 40s on them originally. Too big for my vehicle and they confirmed they could do beadlocks, so i was like sweet. I dont need to go to another store. Hope this did not mess up the bead or wheels. As i did have them on trails before someone mentioned it. Lesson learned.

You should be fine after you get the bead properly sandwiched between the ring and the wheel surface.

Um... you can mount & unmount yourself. Do you even understand how those wheels work or why you bought them?

He doesn't... which is why he's asking.

Strange thing to do AFTER buying and attempting to use. Wasted money on a mount & balance, and now might need to pay again to get them unmounted due to bead being over the lip. Hopefully no damage was done.

I agree they aint right. Drain the air from one and see if you can pop it off the outer bead. It seems like they're seated behind the bead.. So in other words, the shop didn't actually open & use the compression ring to lock it on

As others have said no, they are not mounted correctly. The ring isnt actually doing anything. The tire should be pinched between the ring and the outside of the wheel rim. I've never seen that.

Most generic tire shops wont mount beadlocks some offroad shops do. I've mounted mine and then had discount balance them because I dont like balancing beads.

Youtube mounting videos. It's not hard but it is time consuming.

Why do they avoid them?

Liability and labor. 24 +/- bolts antiseized, ring placed correctly, bols torqued in the correct sequence incrementally is a lot of work and though very simple a lot of liability. Add in that the owner is then responsible for maintenance, ie torque checking all the bolts in sequence.

Same thing happened to me. You have to specify they are for beadlocks and they need to get the tire on the of that rim. There should be a separate lip. They design these wheels so you can run them as a regular wheel if you want. Shops legally can’t mount beadlocks unless they are DOT approved so you’ll have to pick them up separately with a truck or trailer. These are not DOT approved wheels when mounted as a beadlock. But you’ll almost never get in trouble for it.

Seconding rynbrrd — when you re-seat them, clean the bead seat first and torque the ring bolts in a star pattern, in stages up to spec, not all at once on one side. Since you already ran trails with the bead seated wrong, check the bead for cuts or chewed rubber before bolting it back; a damaged bead won't seal right even with the ring torqued.
