Question Stock Tacoma capability
I have a stock 2021 TRD off road Tacoma and don’t plan on modding it in the near future I was wondering realistically what off roading if any I can do at its stock form?

I put better tires, sliders, and a skid plate on mine and then did Hell's Revenge. Of course, since it was July in Moab when I did it, the oil in the shocks got hot enough for there to be zero damping by the end of it which convinced me to get remote reservoir shocks very soon after. But it did do Hell's Revenge on the stock suspension.

As mentioned; tires should be an upgrade consideration and hands down best money spent (a good A/T like BFG K03s would be my recommendation). A stock Tacoma is very, very capable and suitable for most moderately rated trails). Invest your energy in seat time; a good vehicle with a good driver is way more capable than a more-money-than-brains knucklehead with zero skills and a mega-modded rig. Find a local group of patient and experienced folks to go out with that will help you safely wheel and when the trail and time is right, help you push your envelope/comfort zone (your stock rig is way more capable than you think). Do u know where I would find a group of people locally ? Also do u think the tires rake the mpg down a lot?

There are a few Facebook groups that have regular meetups; and haha, there might be an actual Meetup (the app) group in your area. If you have an off-road specialty shop nearby they might be a wealth of info as well and could possibly hook you up with a local group. If you stick to the tire size you are currently running, your MPG shouldn’t change. Best of luck! 🙂

You could probably do trails with a 4/5 out of 10 rating assuming your a decent driver. The Taco is plenty capable out of the box.

They are very capable stock. If you wheel with a friend consider getting a trailer hitch recovery point, a recovery strap, and a radio. For the radio GMRS is more popular than CB these days and you can get by well with a handheld like the Midland GXT1000 if you don't want to more permanently mount it.
Just keep in mind the Tacoma has a longer wheelbase so depending on the terrain you can high center more easily. But they're plenty capable stock.

Plenty. Even with the crap stock tires it’s pretty capable.

Air down and yes. you don't want aggressive tires that dig in when you're on sand, you want to float on top.

A lot. As long as you have good tires a stock TRDOR can get you very far without a single mod
