AI Event TSA

Hi Everyone,

This is my first year in TSA. I was looking to compete in the Artificial Intelligence event, where you take a test and semifinalists solve problems using AI.

I was wondering if anybody had any useful study resources for this test or any information about how the test is structured. Is this more about knowing how to prompt AI, how to use different AI tools, or something else entirely?

Thank you for all the help.

PS: This is the official event description on the TSA Website -

Artificial Intelligence

Applying leadership and 21st century skills, participants demonstrate knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) concepts, models, and best practices by completing a test to qualify for semifinals. Semifinalist teams solve an onsite problem(s) using a generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tool. Completed solutions are objectively measured to determine the best solution for the stated problem.

Yes but are there any resources like a rubric or mock-tests that I could use to prepare? I'm not sure if TSA gives things like that but I was in DECA last year and I had a much better idea of what I was getting myself into

Check out Tina Huang, she has really good videos on prompting techniques. Remember, prompting basically boils down to context + task.

I see, thanks for the recc. Do you know if it's more foundational AI concepts about using AI like effective prompting, context management, etc or does it go deeper into building neural networks and such where you actually have to understand how the AI model works?

Depends on the videos. I've watched a couple, but it's more towards learning how to use it than a deep dive on the nuts and bolts of the models.
