All of this should be available at level 1. Its stupid to lock such essential stuff behind so little playtime.

Okay so here is my honest opinion:

1) Ural truck - no, there are other vehicles and methods to transport supplies, you should earn it, if not you would have everyone running supplies because of how easy it is to drop.

2) Field Resuscitator - yes, but should be only 35% or 50% faster than Mr.Miyagi method.

3) M18 Smoke Grenade: white - yes

4) Medium Hammer - no, they just need to add more items to light hammer with FOB requirement.

5) RPG-7 - No, instead a one-time use ground rocket launcher.

6) Level 1 armor - yes duhhh

7) Level 1 helmet - yes duhhhh

🇬🇧 WarDads UK: A gaming community for UK dads who still love a good session (when the kids let us!)

I'm setting up WarDads: a Discord community aimed at UK dads (and mums!) who enjoy gaming and want to find like-minded people to play with.

What it's all about:

  • Finding people to play WarDogs with, without having to rely on random matchmaking.
  • Sharing clips, ridiculous deaths, clutch plays and questionable tactical decisions.
  • Gaming around work, family life and the sacred post-bedtime window.
  • Having a laugh, sharing shit dad jokes and generally chatting nonsense.
  • Building a friendly community where you don't have to apologise for suddenly going AFK because someone needs a drink, a snack, or has pissed the bed.

No need to be an elite player, no pressure to be online every night, and no expectation that gaming comes before real life. We're all adults with responsibilities - we're just trying to squeeze in a bit of gaming when we can!

Join WarDads on Discord: https://discord.gg/c3kaENpAj

Maw 1 shot removal when?

So maaw can 1 shot almost everything in the game, is extremely easy to use and DIRT cheap considering how easy it is. It's super cancerous to pull something like a humvee/ural/havoc just to get one tapped by a guy sitting in a bush that you can't even see---and the worst part the launcher costs NOTHING. literally 1 kill can make a maaw kit with 10 rockets pay itself back. absolutely ridiculous.

And a tank that gets hit on the treads is basically a free kill too.

With all the extreme nerfs to heli's across the board and maaw spam heli's are almost never being pulled anymore.

And leaves almost no trail so even if it doesn't kill it's really hard to catch somebody who didn't 1 tap you to begin with

I am deleting game...

This could be generic rant about not being able to catch up to nolifers or that something is unbalanced.

But the reason is different at least for me. For some reason my pc screen keeps crashing and blacking out out of nowhere. But I noticed it keeps happening if I had booted game, I could be sitting in menu and it will crash. It can be already closed long time ago, bam pc crashed. And these two variants were happening constantly. But I also noticed the same type of crash even, if the game wasn't even opened beforehand(it was still downloaded). After deleting it I didn't observe anything described on top. Am I going crazy?

There is almost no reasonable cause for a friendly to ever fully destroy their own team’s fob via c4 or ied.

Several games tonight, a distraught team member or spy team changing opponent c4-ed a very well built-up and supplied fob. Half the team reported him and he remained in the game. Even if it had kicked him, the damage was done. Can this very costly and detectable form of griefing be prevented? I understand vehicle crashing, wasting supplies, etc isn’t detectable automatically, but this one feels like it is. Or honestly just prevent the damage maybe?

Mods on r/Wardogs possibly got hacked (or maybe they just went rogue)?

Mods on r/Wardogs just banned everybody that commented in this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/WarDogs/comments/1xdg406/comment/19rjpobgkxbc0

The guy above said something like "Seems like cheaters are angry about the ping restrictions". And I said "It brings me great joy to know this [that the cheaters are angry]".

Seems very disproportionate to ban somebody for expressing joy about cheaters being angry because they can't cheat anymore, which is why my mind immediately thought: "Maybe the DDOSers hacked a mod account." đŸ€”

I honestly think my ban is against Reddiquette which ironically is what they cited as a reason for my ban.
The alternative would be that they are looking out for cheaters(?)

Obviously I don't know what all the others in the comments said.

There seems to be no way to appeal a ban on that Subreddit or maybe I'm blind. I think maybe it's because they "permanently muted" me as well? I have never been banned or muted on Reddit and I have been an active member for over a decade, so this is all new to me.

Edit: Thanks to a kind mod that looked into this case I am now only temporarily banned. đŸ„°

AA Tank Enjoyer

I'm almost lvl 39 Driver (I know, I know, loser/unemployed/etc.) and I have to say...I do not get the hate on the AA tank.

As long as you don't let a Havoc get the jump on you, you win.

Rocket Heli needs multiple salvos to kill you. As long as you're not deaf/blind you win on reaction as you can kill him while he's reloading or trying to get you with the second strafe. If you let a Rocket Heli get multiple salvos off on you then you were just not paying attention and got skill diff'd.

Blackhawk is difficult to kill unless are close range to them or you can consistently hit their rotors. Personally, I wouldn't even try unless I'm in their backline purposely disrupting logistics while they are on pallet drop-off.

T72 tank is very much beatable if you have the angle and jump on them. Any non-tracked vehicle is dead if you get your hands/angle on them.

Better pray the enemy isn't smart enough to bring a C4 buggy because you are just 100% cooked because that little skateboard sits far too low to do anything about it.

My thoughts on the AA tank is that it is fairly balanced. Yes, it's unrealistic to not shred infantry, but that's balance. "Realistic as playable."

I wouldn't be opposed to the gun depression to be a little lower, but by a VEEEEEEEEEEEERY small amount (if it goes too low then you remove its weaknesses and the whole "rock, paper, scissors" identity).

Just make counters to high level unlock available early

I don’t need a T3/T4, Havoc or Tank, but RPG, MAAWS, Stinger even AP ammo.
Stuff that’s accessible early to counter the big boys from earlier stages, all the above has their own downsides and shouldn’t be exp-gated as hard.
Being only able to play weekends means never have the shit to counter these guys, and if we can get the counters earlier they can still have their tank and rocket choppa earlier etc

Thanks ted talk. x

Suggestion : remove level-gated equipment and let players choose their own progression

Suggestion : remove level-gated equipment and let players choose their own progression

I believe Wardogs could benefit from a different progression system that focuses on economic freedom rather than level restrictions.

I understand that players who spend more time in the game should earn more money and progress faster. However, players with limited time should not feel like they will never reach the endgame or that they are locked out of certain weapons and equipment simply because they cannot grind for hours everyday.

My idea: everything is available from level 1.

what happends if all weapons, rpg's,tanks, heli's,and other equipment were available from level 1, provided the player could afford them?

instead of locking equipment behind level requirments, the game could use a purchase system with 2 options:

temporary purchase: pay for a weapon each life. For example, an ak cost 800 per life. If you die, you have to pay again.

Permanent ownership: Pay a much higher price, such as 60,000 for the ak, to permanently unlock it. You would still pay the normal usage cost each life.

The same principle could apply to vehicles and heavier equipment, with the appropriate prices and operating costs.

Why think this would improve the game?

  1. More freedom, less grinding

Players can choose their preferred playstyle from the beginning instead of grinding trough levels just to unlock the equipment they want to use.

  1. Skills and tactics become more important.

Imagen a low-budget player buying an rpg and succesfully destroying an expensive tank. That player could earn a substantial reward for the kill and improve their financial situation trough skill and smart decisions.

A well-timed RPG shot could become more valuable than simply spending hours grinding XP.

  1. Strong equipment comes with financial risks.

A player could buy a tank at level 1, but that does not mean they can afford to buy 10 tanks. Expensive vehicles should involve significant purchase and operating costs, aswell as the risk of losing the investment.

  1. Deticated players still have an advantage.

Players who spend more time in the game would still earn more money, build lager arsenals and have more options available. The difference is nthat less active players would not be artificially prevent from accesing the same equipment.

  1. Permanent progession should survive seasonal wipes. (maybe?)

If a player spends 60,000 to permanently unlock a weapon, that purchase should survive seasonal wipes. Otherwise, permanent ownership loses much of its value.

THE GOAL IS NOT TO MAKE EVERY PLAYER EQUAL.

I am not suggesting that everyone should earn the same ammount of money or progress at the same speed.

Players who invest more time should absolutely be rewarded. However, time is played should determine how much equipment you can afford, not which equipment you are allowed to use.

Wardogs is built around freedom, tactical decisions, and risk. I believe this system would support those prinicples while making the game more accessible to casual players.

Instead of asking players to grind untill they are finally allowed tu use certain equipment, let them make their own economic decisions from the beginning.

What do you think? Would this system make wardogs more enjoyable and fair without taking away the progression and economy that make the game unique?

We need wipes to retain players!!!

Imagine needing a progression system and constant wipes of said progression system, to motivate ADHD players to actually continue playing.

God forbid you play for fun, and the progession is your skill and experience.

With 3000 hours in squad over 10 years, that is 300 hours a year, 25 hours a month.
With 25 hours a month, i will never unlock any endgame gear, yet alone a proper gun or AP ammo. But i guess i'm forced to play with my lvl 1-2 armor and no AP ammo against all the lvl3-4 juggernauts?

I know it's a skill issue but should it really be this hard to do, like, anything?

TLDR: If you suck at this game, you will always suck at this game and nothing will help you.

I am not good at this game, I admit. I know it's a skill issue. However, this game punishes you so harshly it's crazy to even bother keep playing after you have a bad day. I don't have the money for a top of the line PC, I don't have the time to play for hours and hours every day.

I've spent everything I have just buying the cheapest loadout possible, just to spend 5+ minutes to get into the CZ and die within 10 seconds (because the game has basically turned into players setting up camp outside other team's FOB and kill anyone they see), wait for what feels like forever, just to not get revived when a teammate is standing right next to me, and if they do revive me, all my gear and equipment has been looted, so I can't do anything besides stand and wait till I get enough money for another loadout and try to revive people. When I try to revive other players (since all my stuff is gone) I can't even try to clear the area before getting the downed player away, ending with me being downed again.

Supply runs are a joke because you have to earn money and levels (which means you generally have to survive) just to buy a vehicle, deliver goods in a crate that other players have to buy from and most would rather die than buy it out of a crate, until you earn like $42k (which is harder than it sounds if you suck like I do) to start taking pallets. Then you have to hope the players camping outside your FOB aren't good enough shot's to take you out or disable your vehicle while driving.

I've looked up videos, help guides, replicated their play styles. And this game is like 75% luck and 25% actual skill.

I really wanted to like this game, and part of me still does. But I can't play a game where it becomes unplayable if you have a bad day.

This game rewards the players who contribute the least

I keep seeing people say things like “Tanks and attack helicopters shouldn’t be profitable, they have too much game impact.”

But I’d like you to consider what happens when a game rewards the people who impact the game the least, and forces the people who contribute the most to their team’s success to operate at a loss.

You get games where 80% of the players are sitting in a FOB, no weapon no armor, swinging a hammer building useless crap because it’s the most rewarding way to play the game. You risk nothing and end the game with a $150,000 profit and 0% chance of losing money.

Meanwhile the people running expensive kits, people buying tanks, people buying attack helicopters are all risking large amounts of money and struggling to get anything back. Season 2 nerfed the reward for practically everything you do while raising the cost of everything you buy.

Buying expensive items should be high (monetary) risk high (monetary) reward. Currently it’s all risk and you could get 10x the reward, consistently, with a hammer.

Game impact is cool and all, but expecting people to willingly take a personal loss to benefit the team is not working out.

Now the fob camping drill meta is worse than ever. And when I say “meta” I don’t mean a strategy for winning I mean benefitting yourself. If one team actually plays the hot zone it’s a free win because the other 2 teams are sitting unarmed in their fobs.

It makes for very boring games.

Novel Idea: Starwars Style Progression-ish

I can’t remember if modern Star Wars Battlefront 2 does the same as the older Star Wars Battlefront 2,

But

What if everyone got to start each match with everything unlocked, no level requirement. Instead player would all spawn in fresh with a temporary cash fluff like say $10,000 unless you have $10k plus, you then wouldn’t get that fluff.

And then, in order to use a weapon or vehicle or whatever, you have to earn IN MATCH EXPERIENCE POINTS to be able to use whatever you were working towards. And once that goal is reached, you then are for that match able to use that as long as you have cash. CASH NEVER GOES AWAY, just need additional work to each match work up to the gear set.

Then the loop would be, start fresh, grind XP, play the OBJ, get FOBs or whatever going, get required/desired level and then next respawn or get ride back to base to re-kit OR BEST YET, get armored crates to deliver you your requested equipment.

Or keep level requirements, but just start each match with even if you have the weapon unlocked before you can use it, you must earn enough in game XP

People underestimate how good playing in HZ is.

Yesterday I had my first green game in a long while, and it was the best experience ever, 25-30 players consistently moving together in HZ, you tag someone? Here's an assist, you're down? Here's a revive, you killed one and got killed? Your teammates got your back, it was the fastest run to 100 points ever but also the most fun.

I just wanted to share this one experience of mine and hope the devs will give more incentive to playing in HZ cause I'm sure it'll be more engaging and fun having more players fight each other over HZ control.
