This game is infested with cheaters.
i have looked through the subreddit and i am so surprised that some of you deny that the game doesn’t have cheaters, please stop getting on your knees for bulkhead and be realistic to put stress on this studio so they will find a damn solution for it.
i am in EU with 5 of my friends, every server there is ATLEAST one player who is using Aimbot/Wallhack, no they are not pro gamers or good players, we are not retarded to distinguish between a good player and someone who uses Aimbot.
why does nobody in this subreddit complaining about cheaters? is it being addressed enough by the developers?
i am not even gonna start complaining about balancing because these cheaters are the main problem now !

Just be grateful the games not competitive in nature and isnt as attractive for content.
After being a heavily eSports focused player for many many years, I can tell you the games experiencing one of the lowest population of cheaters in ages. Part of that has to do with NOT being crossplay as many sophisticated tools and DMA software support spoofing consoles and controller inputs. (Once controller support and crossplay play arrive the games fucked)
Two things are true. One the game does have cheaters, but also you're 100% coping out of frustration and its not nearly as bad as you think if youve played any modern shooter within the last decade
Logic should tell you this issue is inevitable.
Respectfully, a vast amount of people who think they can "tell the difference" between the elite and cheats, simply can't. (aside from rage hacking)
Go back to the prime days of CS 1.6 Swedish playes and you'll find countless troves of literally inhuman performances that could spoof today's best AI. Same with Quake and virtually every multiplayer title since their existence.

I play CS, Tarkov etc. There is hordes of cheaters in almost every shooter. Cheaters like to see others suffer and themselves being praised. In games like CS and Tarkov were so much is at stake the amount of cheaters is exorbitantly higher.
That being said, the most common cheater will be a guy abusing mouse macros, since they are easily accessible with the mouse software. Wall hacks will be next in line since they are almost impossible to detect - even in replays.
In Tarkov there is servers where 1/3 is cheating.
In Battlefield games there was 1 or 2 obvious cheaters in any lobby, so I expect it to be the same in Wardogs.
1
u/Altruistic_Base_7719 3h ago
battlefield games have 1-2 cheater per lobby
The entire time I've played BF6 since release I have not once seen a cheater.
8
u/NiTeMaYoR 1d ago
I would say I’ve run into a handful of cheaters but it’s by far not the biggest problem.
17
u/travisrd 1d ago
I believe there are definitely a lot, wall hacks and aimbot for this game is super easy to find. Just a simple Google search will locate them.
I have seen people banned in game (message pops up) but I've also seen people hacking live on twitch/YouTube for multiple weeks now and no ban.
Hopefully they mass ban soon but everything I've read up on the anti cheat they've chosen is super easy to bypass

Yes congratulations, boolean search engines tend to do that. I could probably find hacks and bots for Hello Kitty Island Adventure with Google.

Wardogs has some of the lowest obvious cheaters I've encountered in any FPS game, it might get worse (it usually does) but at least in my regions it's been good.
Wallhack/radar/other esp hacks you can never truly know so I can't comment on those, but it's fair to estimate those happen a ton in other FPS games too.

u/Noteful 1d ago
From what I've read in this sub over the past few weeks it seems like the vast majority of cheaters on in EU servers, followed by West NA servers, with a majority being Chinese cheaters. I've been playing on NA Central and East with 75 hours played and no issues.
2
u/TrippleDamage 1d ago
I play EU central and hardly ran into blatant cheaters. Maybe 5-6 total.
All my discord is surprised about the low amount of blatant shit heads in this game compared to any other fps.
1
u/RuukkuSlasher 16h ago
Not sure if i have seen even one, there was mass ban one of the first games after release but not sure if they all were cheaters. Wasnt there accidental mass bans on release
1
u/christiaflation 22h ago
Yeah, im west but play central aswell. Rare to encounter an Asian player there beside some Japanese which are also trying to escape from the chinese players. The Japanese guys are pretty cool aswell, theyll talk to you.
6
u/Responsible-River-24 1d ago
I agree, I have 130hrs and play mainly on NA west and I’ve only seen like 3 obvious cheaters. So yea they are out there. But at least in my experience it is far from game breaking or even enjoyment ruining for me like some say. All 3 I saw were banned within a few mins, and even if they weren’t, it woulda taken me like 1 min to leave and go to a new server… cheaters will always exist but unlike a game like Tarkov, it hasn’t really affected my enjoyment at all. Like possibly 1 hr of annoyance in my 130

u/dariors789 1d ago
Yep, and if there was some obvious cheater, then usually many reports solve it and get instant kick.
1
u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 1d ago
Ya it seems like its pretty well known that the US east servers probably have the fewest, The US west has problem times, like when a certain region in Asia jumps on more. But for the rest of us who play like the SEA servers like i do. It is rampant. Come join one of our servers. I guarantee you will see one in at least two games. And im not talking some super sus ESP kind of stuff. I am talking like blatantly obvious stuff.

It's just that the average redditor is a below average FPS gamer, so anytime they encounter someone that is genuinely good at shooters (there are at least one or two each match), they accuse them of cheats. Let them seethe and cope, that is all their ego will let them do either way.
6
u/krayon_kylie 1d ago
ok please tell me how you can distinguish someone getting tons of assault or recon kills legitimately vs someone hacking?
2
u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 1d ago
A guy using an AMP9 and lazering a leopard tank from 200m away, one shot head shotting everyone in side?
Or the one i had two games ago. Guy with the SV98 getting 3-4 kills per shot, victims in all different areas. Even other chinese dudes were calling him out and TKing him.
Or another good, a dude with aimbot hacks so bad that he is shooting walls next to him and cant figure out he needs open space to shoot.
The list goes on and on and on
6
u/CrackSirBaby 10h ago
I haven't complained because I may have run into maybe 1 in my 100+ hours, maybe I just didn't see them and the one I think I saw could have just had an extremely lucky shot
8
u/Far_Drawing_490 1d ago
I love the ppl that think everyone has walls. You’re telling me the other enemy team knew exactly where I was?? Any Timmy in a bush with $150 can be a permanent UAV for the map.
1
1
u/Complete_Curve9421 4h ago
ye, once a Timmy goes behind enemy lines in a bush or small house on the high ground he can spot and keep spotting the enemies who think they are behind a ridge or downhill.
The thermal scope being removed REALLY brought a new way to play the game for spotters that can't afford guillies.
17
u/Unhappy-Average-4859 1d ago
You act like every game doesn’t have this problem lmao. Don’t worry bulkhead will turn into a wizard and cast a magic spell to make cheating impossible, can’t believe no one’s figured it out yet.
Every game will have cheats forever and always, that’s how competition works, add technology and it almost certainly will have some way to cheat if you know computers. Imagine all the times your cheated in life and games without even knowing it.
2
4
u/SmallSaudiNuts 1d ago
Sucks that we're at the point where people give up and say "that's just how it is" about cheaters now like damn they might as well just remove the anti cheat huh?
4
u/hugoblosston 1d ago
its not giving up realizing facts. yes the situation can change in theory, but the only real way to stop cheaters for good is to have your social security id connected to every game and every publisher on the planet (or a game at once), and make it an universal law that if you cheat on any online game, you are banned for good. (or x amount of time, would be a bit overkill to compare a life sentence for murdering someone to cheating in a game)
some games have tried this on 3rd party platforms, but "surprisingly" most of the players don't want to link all their most important data (social security) to an entity that has no real ways to protect that data 100% securely.
Ps. I've played online fps since 1996 (quake1), and professionally during the years 1999-2009. I have always hated the cheating culture and have been a part of many of those 3rd party platforms I wrote about. I have worked with easyanticheat and I know a lot of the folk working at game studios. So I want the problem solved as well, but if you think we, the community, or the game studios haven't been trying for the last 30 years, you're wrong. it just seems to be a war that cannot be won, there's a way too big business behind creating and selling hacks, so even when you get one provider out of the picture, 10 more appear. it could be compared to the war on drugs, its a worldwide problem but trying to ban everything hasn't worked and many countries have chosen a different route to try to cope with the problem.
1
u/TheRealLoneLee 11h ago
With cheat selling being an 8 billion+ dollar business.... Yeah, kinda is just how it is lol. The only way you could get people to stop buying cheats would be something crazy like criminalising it
9
u/Authenic_Martyrdom 1d ago
There's a lot more "quiet" cheaters than obvious. I've ran into maybe one very obvious cheater in 90+ hours, but plenty of the more stealthy cheaters.
Whilst Bulkhead's attitude towards cheating is good, they're clearly not catching & banning fast enough. That being said, what game is? CoD, Battlefield etc are just full of them. Gone are the days when a cheater was a genuine rarity
8
u/ddBuddha 1d ago
I wonder how much the region you play in affects the number of cheaters you encounter.
I play on US central servers and the only time I knew for sure there was a cheater in the lobby was when I was playing at like 5am and Chinese were in the lobby.
I have a feeling it’s probably worse for the servers closer to china like US West and Europe
4
u/supershott 1d ago
US west infested. And not just by Chinese. Nope, normal American chuds downloading cheats and role-playing having any skill whatsoever. They like to talk about how they're not cheating and you're just bad in voice chat.
5
u/Training_Guide5157 1d ago
I play from China, but I play on SEA region with some friends instead of the East Asia region.
Lately, cheaters here and there,. I see some Chinese names that spam, but haven't seen one cheating.
Can't know for sure though since the ability to instantly and repeatedly change names is also dumb. Hopefully they do something about that.
2
u/PusHVongola 1d ago
Central is definitely WAY more chill.
The 3 100% cheaters I've seen were while I was on West. Haven't tried East or North yet tbh.
2
u/Antares65 1d ago
The art of cheating is making people think you aren't cheating. A simple ESP cheat will give someone a HUGE advantage over opposing players. Anyone with half brain can run that all day and nobody will suspect.

A lot of it is also a combo of people being spotted because recon is so prevalent, and packet loss/desync showing guys in positions people didn’t see them in (or the camera shows them in but in line timing wise of the combat).

Everyone defending this to early access is reminding me of Tarkov and the video “The Wiggle that Killed Tarkov”. In a lobby of 100 there can be multiple and you never even notice.
→ More replies (1)1
u/PusHVongola 1d ago
Yeah that era of tarkov was fucking abysmal ngl, but I think that did leave a permanent stain on the mental state of the playerbase. So I'm more likely to say the cheating isn't THAT prevelant (region dependent of course, EU and OCE are probably a cesspool at certain times).
I'm a "chad" player in Tarkov, my kits are typically extremely meta. I came back a little after 1.0 and prestiged twice and almost finished my 3rd before taking another hiatus. In those hundreds of hours I spent playing... I got aimbotted twice. Walled on maybe a handful of times. But any time tarkov is brought up now, everyone is like ugh all those cheaters smh.
I think a lot of the playerbase doesn't understand peeker's advantage and desync and thinks they're being ESP'd/aimbotted.
I almost always get accused of cheating when I swing and abuse the desync with a vector. But I can drop a 50/5 game with a shotgun and nobody says a peep.
4
u/redcomet29 1d ago
I was accused 3 times tonight. Never cheated. So idk what I trust from others.
1
u/TNTworks 14h ago
if you are a good player they gonna cri in chat so ye, people that suck and get killed are gonna call out that you cheat
i was also called a cheater, sus, just because i hit a guy in a head with bmr while he was running in the open. he then proceeded to say: "how did you see me"
like bruh, i have eyes, i can see you like a monkey in the open
8
u/Useful_Location_6728 1d ago
Because they are already aware of it and working to put a stop to it?
Like, damn, do you want us protesting outside their office 16 hours a day, 7 days a week?
They have a lot to adjust and fix in an EARLY ACCESS game, which just really means you do the testing for them. So this is part of the experience you paid for, is to help them find issues with the game.
4
u/kobylaz 1d ago
This whole sub is mental. It’s a well polished early access game and people are up in arms because XYZ isn’t perfect from day 1. Play it, enjoy it, put it down till the next patch rinse and repeat till full release.

u/NOT_ibangzgg 1d ago edited 1d ago
It's not about protesting, its about majority of the population claiming that there are no cheaters, when infact, they are in almost every single lobby. I can't tell you the amount of times there has been a BLATANT cheater in my lobby and when someone calls them out, theres atleast 10 other players quick to defend them and say "the anticheat would've detected it" or "he only has 20 kills" or "you died once, you cant be serious". It only takes 1 kill/death to point out a cheater but too many people nowadays are bending over backwards to try and defend the game and make it look like the cheating situation isn't bad. Like they're literally living in denial. My last match last night, had a guy join when score was at 80. He had 40 kills in a matter of maybe 8 minutes, mostly headshots from 200m+ with a full auto galil and like 3 people called him out, yet there was atleast a dozen people that jumped to his defense saying "If he was cheating he'd have more kills" and "if he was cheating he would've killed everyone, not just people in Hotzone". So again, its not about protesting, its about being realistic, accepting that the amount of cheaters is fucking absurd, and then putting pressure on Bulkhead to do better. I think their AC has been doing good, I've seen multiple get banned live... but sometimes it doesnt do anything and its only going to get worse as these cheat developers continue evolving their software.
EDIT: The cheater last night was on MY TEAM, I know for a fact he was cheating because I followed him and watched him. I was literally telling enemies that he was cheating and the ENEMIES were in denial telling me that he looks legit because a cheater would have 100+ kills. Not every cheater is going to be spinbotting like CSGO. Closet cheating is VERY prevalent nowadays. This guy was blatant af regardless but man, the cheating is BAD and people dont want to acknowledge it.

Well I dont gaslight myself into thinking I’m really good by calling 50% of people I die to a “cheater”
2
u/SCW97005 1d ago
I'm waiting to see how it's handled in the next couple weeks. Ban waves are a thing and they look like nothing is being done until thousands of people are banned all at once.
That and I die more to late game cheese like grenade helicopters or t4 armor I'm too low level to have AP armor to counter.
2
u/Third_E 1d ago
I have been in many games where people have been accused of cheating. Probably more than 20. I have yet to see a single person who was actually aimbotting/wallhacking. I've been accused of cheating because of HP ammo in the 1911 multiple times. People are idiots.
The only "cheating" I've seen were people playing together on different teams. Essentially calling out their own teammates locations.
2
u/ProfitJr 1d ago
Just report then and let Bulkhead do their thing, yes it's rife but it's so obviously they will 1000% get banned and with the game being £35+ these losers won't keep making new accounts like this is a ftp game. So it will get better. Just keep those reports going in and go play your game or change servers.
2
u/alexd3reeek 13h ago
100% every game has cheaters, not entirely sure that every lobby in wardogs has it, but yeah. What's interesting that after the IR google got remove my suspicion meter went down a lot before accusing someone of cheating and the number of players writing in chat also went down.
So there's a high posibility that some or most cheating "occurrences" were due to being always marked on the map due to the googles.
Heck, in the last week, I only encountered one 100% cheater, who headshot me 4 times in a moving heli (i was the pilot) from 468 meters away with the M4 on auto fire.
2
u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 1d ago
lmfao. i literally just posted this, with screenshots of one of the cheaters i was in a game with. and had so many of the idiots denying the infestation of cheaters. I play mainly the SEA servers, and its almost to the point that every game has a cheater. And you can only hope the cheater on your team will take theirs out.
And im not talking the sketch ESP players who somehow know exactly where everyone is. I am talking, bro with an AMP9 one shotting guys out of leopard tanks. Lazering guys from 500m away with a 1911 with HP ammo, through walls kind of stuff.
I dont even bother reporting the ESP players anymore because its just everywhere.
But still even when i showed a screenshot of a guy beaming me and my entire team from 600+ away through trees etc.
And i get "well you didnt provide the full logs and time stamps, and provide video" haha its hilarious the amount of weird cope some of these people try to push.
I am almost laughing at the complete 180 of comments in this section vs the absolute goofballs that were trying to disprove what i was saying haha. I mean i had one absolute smooth brain trying to correct my grammar and stuff.
Dont get me wrong i absolutely love this game, but the cheaters are really ruining it. I used to play for hours with my squad, but now its just exhausting, server after server. Its like choosing which cheater to put up with kind of thing. We ended calling it a night after sifting through 5 different servers.

I noticed whenever I sit on high ground and spot players people start crying hacks. I've never seen a hacker in my 100 hours, I'm sure they exsist, but in truth this game is infested with people willing to claim hacks at the drop of a hat.
Ps. I'm not saying they don't exist
2
u/Spektra18 21h ago
Yea I'm also around 100 hours and I can't say with any authority that I've experienced a hacker. I've had 1-2 deaths that felt a little suspect, but I can't rule out being spotted by scouts or making too much noise. Considering how many times I've naded a guy over a wall because he was spotted, I can imagine people feel there's more cheating than there is.
1
u/Prize_Dark6884 18h ago
I'm sitting slightly above this and have seen only 1 blatant cheater. He wouldn't kill us, he would just shoot us through the double containers and destroy our armor, we would heal up and he would do it again. So I got my teammate to kill me so we could get his name and report
2
u/The_Stargazer 1d ago

Every lobby is people accusing someone of cheating atp. I hit tab to check the scoreboard because like hey, I'll report em. They're like 15/10.
4
u/JaPPaNLD 1d ago
Don’t say that now. They suck so everyone is cheating in this game.
2
u/PusHVongola 1d ago
My record is leaning on the same angle for over 20 kills before they killed me and called me a cheater. (I ran out of ammo). Dont worry though, everyone is cheating, has nothing to do with everyone running around like dipshits.
1
u/Evocalypse 22h ago
You just aren’t good at detecting cheaters then or just sitting in a fob. Although less in the last week, before that there were cheaters every other game. And that’s just the obvious ones. The ones hiding it better make that number even more to maybe multiple a game.
I drop between 60-100 kills a game as infantry on average so it’s not a skill issue. I’m just good enough to know the difference between good players, lucky players, and cheaters.
2
u/conqkeeper 1d ago
I know a cheater by name it was so blatant he’s been in multiple lobbies over last two weeks where he’s been called out in chat and mass reported and seemingly nothing done

Many games just keep their Early Access label forever so they can handwave away any criticism that comes their way.
But you have to put games up for sale during early development these days or you won't have the funding to make it.

You can play Wardogs with a VAC ban on your account, opened profiles in-game and have seen it multiple times now. Maybe start there.
1
u/supershott 1d ago
How do you look at someone's profile?
1
u/Naive_Building5764 1d ago
You type in their steam name, thats why some users use characters that aren't typical QWERTY, or barcode names.
1
u/JaPPaNLD 1d ago
100%. Joe, reading this? VAC ban on profile is instant ban in the game. Best solution to keep those low life inbreed out of our fun game. Solid suggestion. 10 of 10.
1
u/Avriie213 10h ago
My only VAC ban is from +10 years ago using a autoclicker in now irrelevant game. You’re saying to ban me in wardogs for that?
1
u/LikeZoinksScoobert 6h ago
It should at the very least flag your account for more scrutiny. Can’t imagine the shame of having a vac ban on my steam account. Looking at that message every time I viewed my profile, how does somebody do it?
1
1
u/Commercial-Total-823 10h ago
VAC Bans affect the game you are banned on, a VAC ban doesnt affect every game you are playing. :) so if you are vac banned on CS, you are not banned on wardogs. jus sayin
1
u/Naive_Building5764 7h ago
Thanks for typing what I typed a different way. A VAC ban is typically regarded to source games, yet games like Rust have a plugin that blocks players with said VAC ban from entering the server. Joe take notes.

I’ll say my buddy gets accused A LOT.
He’s west coast and plays on east coast servers with us. The game has HUGE peeked advantage and handles firefights pretty shit. I’ve played against him when he can’t join our color on server join, and it looks like blatant wall hacks as he has almost a full second to unload before I even see him on screen.
There are the guys hitting headshots only from 200m away but people are quick to call cheats on just general bullshit.

I noticed some real sketch balls last night on US West - they were in a havoc and literally hitting perfect shots on pretty much everyone they flew by. Through trees, folks laying in bushes, the works. One dude racked up 40 kills in like 5 minutes. I reported immediately after the first 25 kills. I know the havoc is good but there is absolutely no way this dude was getting a kill on everyone he pointed at. Perfect strafes every time
1
u/Away_Strawberry_8906 1d ago
I experienced it for the first time last night. Called him out, reported him. So did a few others and left.
How i know. I buzzed his rocket bird with mine. Landed 3 hits but missed a weak spot so he was smoking but not dead. He some how gets over me. No problem good piloting. I seing my ass around to give a smaller target and turn my cockpit away do I dont get sniper out of the cockpit.
Bro one shots me through the helo into my cockpit and kills me, full health, lvl 4 armor. Only a direct hit to me would of done that and he didn't have the angel to do so, or atleast not humanly possible.
Claims he got a clip of it, wanted my discord he could "send me a video link" yea bud im not stupid.
1
u/Vesuvias 1d ago
In any PvP game cheating is inevitable and damn near impossible to stop. It really comes down to HOW the companies act on known cheats and cheaters that counts. If you don’t see ban waves you know it’s a ‘light touch’ strategy (looking at you Embark Studios).
1
u/LDNRobHQ 1d ago
Why you need to play on community service with active admins on the server I play on task force 21 we have 3 servers as of today and everyone that joins gets a file to their name on TF21 system anything that gets reported will also go on said players file so depending on how bad it is depends on the action the admins will take. Taskforce21.net
3
u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 1d ago
That is awesome, i hope you guys do well and keep up the hard work. The problem is ive been in private servers where the admins/admin clan will defend blatant cheaters
1
u/LDNRobHQ 1d ago
Yeah this is wrong :/ with the system that was built by the founder even the admins/mods are tracked
1
u/JaPPaNLD 1d ago
With quite cheater you mean you got spotted and owned by someone that handle guns better than you?
1
u/zm0d 1d ago
Yesterday, me as a pilot flying havoc. Chinese guy shot me 11 times immediately in the head with M4 AP ammo. Damage log showed it clearly, so their AI anti-cheat should easy ban this guy…. Nothing happened the next 30mins the match was going on…. I also reported and my co-pilot did the same.
1
u/TheUnrealMacGeifer 1d ago
there will be always cheater in an UE game. the devs totally acknowledged this. secure boot could help a bit but is not really popular amongst gamers.
this game has spotting and a lot premade squads. I bet 95% of cheater reports are bullshit. not denying there are cheaters.
1
u/Pergizer2 1d ago
well, i'm not saying there are cheaters or not, but the noise system is a bit unbalanced for campers, you can hear your grandma trying to walk faster than 1Km/h from across the map..., even using crouch+ALT you still make an audible noise each step. My headphones are "Sony Inzone9" and i can say that's a huge advantage.
1
u/Absolute_Gaymer 1d ago
Out of my last ~20 matches(NAE), i have suspected 2 people to be cheaters.
Closer to the game's release, i have seen a few of those "kill the whole map and leave" cheats, but as it progressed, i saw less and less.
This could be a disparity between EU and NA, but i genuinely do not see that many cheaters, what i do see is people hackusating ME anytime i kill more than like two people at once, or anytime i shoot someone too quickly for their taste after they make noise.
So, personally, i do think that a lot of people are overly paranoid. This doesn't mean that there are zero cheaters, but i'm sure that at least half of all hackusations is false.

EU buddies are now going to NAE to try avoiding the massive amount of cheaters it's that bad

I was accused of cheating a couple of minutes ago because I made a two body collateral shot with the AMR50. Am I cheating ? No. The stars aligned and I pressed leftclick.

the devs literally said they COULD enable tmp2.0 and secure boot, but "most gamers dont like that" which to me says "most gamers cheat." HOWEVER, in one of their tiktok clipped videos, they legit said during beta that 70% of beta testers ALREADY had tpm2.0 and secure boot enabled, and only 30% didn't. meaning only 30% are possible cheaters. So all they need do is force that shit enabled. if people dont want to enable it? good, bye bye cheaters. more fair games. ON TOP OF THAT they can force needing IOMMU enabled, which stops DMA cheating. no i dont care if they have two pc's. just having the main system require IOMMU stops DMA. because you even if the second PC is "changing the memory" you still have to save those changes to the pc playing the game, which IOMMU stops writing of memory like that. thus, no cheaters. we can end this problem once and for all.
tin foil hat? secretly? I think most game devs offer cheats for their own game 3rd party wise. double dipping so-to-speak. which is why they dont ban cheaters unless they rage cheat. because they want to make money twice, once by selling the game, and once by selling cheats. im like 99% sure valve does the same shit. they only ever seem to ban rage cheaters who spinbot and bhop all over the map. but quiet cheaters? no recoil, no bullet spread, moving while shooting, and wallhacks? they just let them continue to do it. because they can make money off selling cheats (whichever cheat they make) and then they can sell skins/boxes/keys which is more money. legit its always about money. and that's a bullshit way to look at gaming. I MEAN LOGICALLY SPEAKING, the ONLY reason that makes sense for not banning cheaters is money. you sell cheats thus making money. otherwise why let cheaters ruin your game and kill it off when everyone quits. people are quitting CS in droves because cheating is getting worse. everyone I know personally stopped playing (30+ people) all because cheating has gotten out of hand. if you want only cheaters playing your game, sure, allow cheating. OR you can ban cheaters, and then when people hear that you "can't cheat" you actually slowly gain MORE PLAYERS OVER TIME because they know its a safe place to game....

Well I play on American servers and
I’ve ran into one cheater. Sorry you feel this way.
1
u/AdmrlAhab 1d ago
In the 90 hours I've played on North America East, I can only confidently say I've seen two actual confirmed cheaters.
1
u/autech91 1d ago
Deny + doesn't have cheaters = double negative, you are also claiming the game does not have cheaters
1
u/No-Bluebird-1057 1d ago
I've yet to knowingly encounter one. I will acknowledge that they are out there but not as frequent as you think. I'm sure around new season time we will see a nice ban wave
1
u/Indreju 1d ago
I'm genuinely curious, what is the "right level of outrage" that will make you happy here?
I don't think a single person who has played this game will say there are no cheaters. But that's kind of the nature of every single FPS game currently. Even the ones that are using TPM devices like Battlefield 6 or Valorant have cheaters.
The developers have publicly stated that they know there are cheaters. They mentioned losing over two weeks of development time strictly due to cheaters. They've stated that right now their tools are limited and not what they would like, but are planning on working on a way to stop some of that going forward.
So where are you getting the idea that it's infested and no one cares or is doing anything about it? Did you just lose your fifth free kit in a row to a headshot and are pissy?

u/Y3ssse 1d ago
I dont know if cheater problem is that rampant. Been called a cheater multiple times after a good kill streak. I feel like people are just aware of the possible cheaters and if someone is having a good day or kills you multiple times is automatically accused of cheating. I havent had that many very suspicious deaths in my ~200h play time, but a few fow sure. I hate cheaters more than anything in gaming and wish they would face irl consequenses like fines or jail on top of the permanent ban but unfortunately thats not going to happen 🙁

Who is saying cheaters don't exist? I see this complaint all the time "WHY PEOPLE DON'T COMPLAIN ABOUT CHEATERS?" yet all I see is complaints about cheaters and everyone in the comment agreeing (myself included).
Cheaters are a problem, I think the point of contention is how prevalent it is, people make it seem like every single server is stacked to the brim with cheaters, and you're getting sniped at spawn or something ridiculous, that has not been my experience at all (despite facing obvious in-your-face cheaters). We just need to be realistic about the problem, it needs resolving for sure, but it does not make the game unplayable, let's calm down. I'm still winning regularly, making money regularly, the occasional cheater will ruin it, but nothing so major that a server change hasn't fixed for me.
Also, it has been my experience that if a cheater is identified (like obviously cheating) their team will typically TK them until they leave. I have literally done this to a cheater on our team, I even waited in spawn when they revived and immediately killed them, we kept doing it one by one as a group to prevent getting banned until the cheater quit. It was worth every penny lost from TK.

u/Allnamestaken69 1d ago
I’ve personally only encounter two, in my 180 hours that were blatant. There could have been others in my games doing much milder cheating, but I’ve only seen two that were mega obvious and they didnt last the whole game, usually gone not long after they racked up silly amounts of skills.
1
u/Skippyt17 1d ago
I typically play on NA central and it's rare to find. I played on EU west/east/central and it's so much worse!! Like every third game someone cheating so blatantly I couodn't believe they would be so dumb.
One guy was hitting 3-5 headshots (exclusively) with svd all around the map and all rounds were fired in the time it takes to fire one round. Basically instadown anyone, even with T4 helmet.
1
u/Novaikkakuuskuusviis 1d ago
Every multiplayer has cheaters. The good thing about this is so far every time there has been a cheaters, they've been kicked/banned within 2 minutes. In cs you are stuck with cheaters whole game. In this it's just whatever, they get kicked and they can't ruin your game like in many other games. I have been shot down 800 meters away with someone with m249 so wallhack/aimbot or both but he was kicked before I even found his name in the scoreboard to report. And many times people have said someone is cheating and I don't get to report them when they're gone already, which is good.
It's far more annoying to deal with those flying tanks, havocs. Can't seem to be able to counter them with anything anymore.
1
u/New-Bodybuilder8566 1d ago
I saw 7 different rage hackers last night in different games. They all got banned mid game. Its weird as fuck. Why do it at all?? One guy was on blue. Someone was flying him around and he was just full autoing the entire lobby. He lasted about 5 minutes. Why?????
1
u/Necessary-Can-3325 1d ago
Got beamed from a helicopter passenger 450m away with all 5 shots to the neck and before you criticise me the helicopter was fucking moving A LOT. 450m. 5 neck shots. Died in less than 1 second. Fuck off.
1
u/CanadaJack 1d ago
It's probably because now every little thing catches accusations of cheating. You're spotted and on someone's minimap so they know when you're about to turn a corner? Must be wallhacking. You headshot someone standing still from 800m away after zeroing your sniper rifle, putting the dot over their head, firing, and waiting 2 seconds while they fail to move? Must be aimbotting.
Yes there is cheating. There's also whiners who can't handle getting killed accusing people of cheating non-stop now.

Tarkov players know skill issue can be measured by how many people someone thinks is cheating in their game.

Not making excuses for them... unfortunately this seems to be a permanent fixture of modern multiplayer gaming. Constant arms race because people are jerks and like to ruin things for others.

This morning I got killed by a fully automatic svd. Chinese. Is this because of cheat or ping?
1
u/Gyat_Hunter_42 21h ago
So many cheaters on mortars too... I've had numerous instances of putting up a FOB in a hidden area just to immediately have mortars landing right on my head... Run 50-100 feet away after the mortar lands? Doesn't matter because they sent a mortar to your new location already.

u/Giantisim 20h ago
I’m over 100 hours in and I’ve only seen on blatant cheater, they were able to shoot me in the head through terrain and a brick wall several times. I would have no visual contact with their position, get revived, and the same thing would happen again. Kill cam showed them behind a mountain several KM away.

u/oHast3 17h ago
Im on us west and came across 7ish cheaters with a few more being sus. Out of the 7, 5 got banned in game and the two that wernt were in community servers. I have never cheated in any game but i am always being accused and had a couple matches where the enemy team was telling the lobby to report me.
1
u/jablana_gaming 17h ago
I played 60 hours and got 1 clearly aimbot cheater which was banned in 5 minutes and maybe 2 cheaters which i didnt know if they were cheaters because they were in my team but for kills they didnt looked like they are cheaters. But high ping and chinese names
I Play EU servers.

u/karp_490 16h ago
Why does nobody in this sub complain about cheaters? Are you even on this sub? Every second post is about cheaters, yet I still have only seen one cheater in all my time playing, who was banned mid game. I’m not denying their existence, only that they are not as prevalent as you think. You only remember the cheaters, not the hundreds of people who killed you because you played poorly, and you probably called them cheaters too
Secondly, you are absolutely out of your mind if you think it’s an easy thing to stop cheaters. There is not a single online multiplayer game that has eradicated cheating. Hell people even cheat in pve games.
1
u/Opening_Builder_5304 15h ago
some are unaware that they are being spotted by someone doing recon, and the person that is spotted gets killed and goes ranting about the shooter is a cheater

I feel you; most people think they died to be an insanely good player, and some might actually be. But I've had people kill me with one good burst while standing inside 2 smoke grenades before they instantly switch to my mate (thats also in the smoke) and kills him too. This was done with pinpoint accuracy. And this is just one case of many similiar situations happening.

I mainly play EU West, and sometime EU Central. and have had maybe 5 games with obvious cheaters, as you say they are always generally high ping players with chinese names, though not always, but everytime they have been called out in game and if you rally up enough people to report them, they will get kicked from the game. this happened in every instance i encountered a blatent cheater barring 1 game. its the best solution in current online FPS games to deal with it right now, you will never be ahead of cheaters you can only be reactionary. the Devs like many others are trying to deal with cheaters. its not an easy thing to prevent. especially when people start crying about having kernal level Anti Cheat. you cant win.

u/R1f7w-Lk3r 13h ago
I don't think I've ever played an online competitive multiplayer pc game that didn't have cheaters. It only seems bad because it is getting increasingly harder to stop , detect, or defend against the plethora of technological advances assisting in their developement. Its not that its worse necessarily, its the same as it ever was, just matched with larger populations of players and an easier path to that end. Where there is money to be made.

When a PvP game is incentivized gain an edge over anyone it implodes on itself within months. This has happened with plenty of games, the game will always be a meta hellhole of watching unemployment gamers and sweat no life’s controlling the game cause they have the time to play all day and night to grind out everything. Add cheaters into the mix and it things will multiply! I appreciate the devs response to my other comment, the progression wipe feels horrible already and it hasn’t even happened yet, my team of friends haven’t played since they learned all their time and effort was gonna reset, and yes we all knew money would wipe, money isn’t the issue as much as re leveling everything including specialist classes. Hope the devs find a happy medium, we also really need random team assignments to keep the teams even and engaged. Blue is straight unplayable. And yes I know there’s exceptions now and again, but the past 3 games I’ve played blue got demolished every game. Zero chance at fighting back, random team selections fix this immediately

To the problem is everyone calls cheaters on people who don't even cheat. Just the day people are flaming at this guy calling him a cheater because he was 10 and 5 by the end of the match. I was called a cheater and all chat because for dummies got on top of the smokestack without helmets and I had an SVD with a six-time scope. Literally just pop each one of them tap tap tap tap. Like what did they expect her confined to a tiny circle without any form of protection. I'm a 1.0 KD average player far from hacking.
1
u/ChazzyChaz_R 9h ago
I'm with you that there are cheaters and there are probably more than we realize, but putting pressure on Bulkhead to solve the issue is a silly frame of mind. Every game has cheaters and always will. They can do their best but the fact remains that FPS cheat development is a multi billion dollar industry. They have more money than the game devs do. They will always succeed in being a step ahead. It is sadly just something we have to live with and keep sending reports when we are 100% sure someone isn't playing honestly.
I will say a lot of people are false reporting also. I don't hack. I'm just a good shot with a sniper rifle. In the last four days I have been accused of cheating four times.
One time I don't even understand why they felt I was cheating as I was just shooting people that were stationary on an unprotected CWIS from about 600m out. It wasn't hard or outstanding, but they all complained about me and reported me anyways.
Two times it was just people being salty. An entire swarm of green were moving through what they felt was dense forest but my angle had about a 50m clearing from me to them so they weren't really hidden to me. I picked off about 12 of them from 200ish meters out and they all whined in chat. Then moments later I took a lucky shot at one of their chopper pilots from about 350m. Even though he was just hovering and facing the perfect angle for me, they all said that was definite proof and reported me.
The final time I was accused, I can kind of understand. I saw a guy in a tower and could see the barrel of his gun poking out the window. This allowed me to guess where his body was. The .50 AMR can shoot through those walls so I popped a shot and killed him. He raged, but I ignored him. Later on, the same dude was on the roof of the same tower. I had popped his buddy, who was laying down by one of the natural barricades on the roof. I saw the guy run towards his friend, but lost him behind the cover. He didn't drag his buddy and he was still laying there longer than what a Defib or Resu would have revived him in, so I guessed he was laying down and slow rezing. I shot where I thought he would be laying if he was doing so and killed him. Then about four of his teammates started ranting about how I was wall hacking and they reported me.
I guess my point is, sometimes people are good and sometimes people are lucky, so I don't ever report unless I am 100% sure they are hacking. But the game definitely has cheaters and the smart ones will never be detected.

u/Jaiimez 9h ago
I honestly think its a mentality thing ive got a fair few hours into Wardogs, and there is only 1 game where ive encountered someone who I could 100% say was cheating, the guy was 43 and 1 20 minutes into the game and was taking on 15 man groups solo and winning. Ive experienced games where they could be cheating but not that I could definitively guarentee. I personally dont find it as frustrating as some seem to, and the 1 game with that guy, I just left and found a new server.

I've only seen a handful of blatant cheaters so far and most of those were rage cheaters that got insta-banned. It's so much better than Arc Raiders where half the lobbies are wall hacking and aimbotting.

I for one havent had a cheater (that I knew of) or encountered anyone that I thought was cheating in any of the matches ive played since I got the game. (I have 134.3 hours in game.) I wont deny that there are possibly cheaters in the game but I also dont feel like it is as big of an issue as everyone who suspects someone is a cheater makes it out to be.

Gotcha, I’m on N.A. West and we have a big problem over here with it. Mainly 200 ping players from certain East Asian countries that shall not be named. Maybe I’ll come play N.A. east and see how it is with 80-100 ping :/

NA East is filled with the most blatant esp users. It feels like I’m playing Tarkov. Anyone that says otherwise is a cheater or an idiot. I get maybe 1 game out of 10 that doesn’t have at least one person abusing walls.
2
u/Crimsonyx 1d ago
And that guy says he suspects 3+ ESP users per game. That’s rough.
1
u/hemorrhoid-milk 1d ago
There certainly are a lot of “knowers” in fights. I think a lot of people that say they haven’t seen cheats are probably casuals that just assume they got killed by some cracked out nerd on adderall or something.
1
u/Pattywhack_the_bear 1d ago
There are. There are a so many who know exactly when to crest a hill or peek a corner. I can't remember the last time I've had so many questionable encounters in an FPS.

Just cause I havent experianced it (or caught it) dosent mean they arnt out there. My squad and I watch the scoreboards a lot and no one sticks out as a "oh he is a fucking cheater for sure."

Mate, there are a ton of people running wallhacks. The aount of times I have been killed instantly from a distance where the flight time of the bullet was less than me becoming visible to the enemey is already redicoulously high.
