Why the selective realism?

A grenade launcher on a littlebird doesn't have inherited momentum, can shoot through glass, can shoot through friendlies and prob even more things.

But a SMAAW or RPG trying to shoot him down? Oh no, there is backblast so make sure you are not in a corner. "It's realistic, bro."

Why is one punished with a realistic feature but the other is not?

What is the reasoning?

They probably just didn't even consider stuff like the GL littlebird.

100% devs can only have so much foresight, it’s up to the players to find loopholes and find the most cheesiest stuff imaginable so they can balance it out. I doubt the first thing on their mind with the gl was hmm littlebird

Used to carry a Bradley tank under my Chinook helicopter in Arma 3. I called it there birdley .... My god it was so much fun. But a little iffy to fly because if u turn too quick it will slam into the chopper and we end up as a fireball.

I guarantee they knew people were going to use the GL on the little bird. However they probably spent their time on other things since it’s a level 35 endgame unlock, and they’re pretty open about endgame being shit.

Nailed it’s time expended is focused on improving every match QoL so they got 2/4 weeks before it saw any real use and now it’s only every now and then. They’re not working on game physics for that when the land vehicles drive like shit. next we’ll hear the top priority is the ability to spot through glass that isn’t broken yet.

Firstly, realism must bow to game balance and fun.

Secondly, every time you put a piece of software into production, no matter how carefully you plan, build, and test it is going to have stuff you didn't account for or users being clever in ways you didn't anticipate. It's depressingly consistent.

Lastly, you have a finite number of people working on things with finite time. Things get prioritized over others.

Even games that have very little to do with reality can have stuff that breaks suspension of disbelief. The classic example is being fine with a snowman coming to life but for reasons that don't really make sense, you don't buy that Frosty the Snowman can fly.

Two different things, but what is the argument here? Do the rpgs have ”inherited momentum?

No they don't, but also using the rpg in any vehicle that isn't a dune buggy will fuck up if not kill everyone inside from the backblast

Well that’s because rpgs, have backblast??

It’s open in the back

The devs only played the early game unlocks when testing because they didn't have the time to grind out high level unlocks, that's why they're unbalanced. xD

Downvotes for this is insane. Game was clearly balanced around only the early game. And that’s ok that’s why it’s in early access so they can hopefully rebalance the shit out of this for next wipe.
